LeeG
Good sequence, thanks. For a Controller device that is not reporting status, do a Show Device Links Table and post result. Also what is PLM Insteon address?
GuitarBuilder
Here you go: PLM Insteon address is 19.75.

GuitarBuilder
An ApplianceLinc cannot function as a Controller device. Lee - you asked what type of device 1B.75.FF was and it's the ApplianceLinc that I mentioned above. Of course it's not a controller - what are you suggesting with that statement? FWIW, the system was working for about 18 months without any configuration changes before the PLM died. All I did was replace the PLM.
LeeG
From post #26 - "For a Controller device that is not reporting status, do a Show Device Links Table and post result." The response was to provide information about an ApplianceLinc which is not a Controller.

GuitarBuilder
The only controller I have in the system is a mini remote; it's link table is blank. It works fine, however.
stusviews
Did you manually link the Mini Remote?
GuitarBuilder
I programmed it through ISY. I checked operations again with the UD interface and now all devices are responding and showing status correctly. It appears that the scenes are not turning on or off as they should under program control. However, the Mini Remote is controlling 3 scenes successfully. Very confusing! The programs appear to be running successfully, but in the end nothing is happening. I can come in afterwards and toggle all devices with the UD interface that should have turned on or off under program control. Perhaps a restore of the ISY is in order? Michel Kohanim
Hi GuitarBuilder, No, please find a backup from before the PLM failure, restore it, and then do File | Restore Devices. With kind regards, Michel
MFBra
Just got my first dead PLM and after replacing with the new one (v2.0 - 1444) Steps 1 .Backup prior to shutdown and replace everything 2. Turned on the PLM 3. After few seconds Turned on ISY 4. Replace PLM... => i got an error in the ISY that cannot update plm. After starting all over again (having reinstalled it from backup) i could update the PLM but nothing was working well, and when i did a show PLM links table i got an error ( Failed reading device link (PLM) [-200000/-5] ). Here the log during this tentative to read the PLM links. I tried removing some devices and reinstalling and seems to be recovering those reinstalled. I'm sure this is not the right procedure, could someone point me to a better direction to fix ? Michel Kohanim
Hi MFBra, Have you at any point in time done File | Delete Modem? If so, that explains everything you are seeing. Also, did you ever do File | Restore Modem on a dead PLM? If so, please go to an older but good backup, restore it, and then do File | Restore Devices. With kind regards, Michel
MFBra
no, i haven't deleted the modem neither restore on the dead plm. I tried first time without success, restored the backup, reset the new plm to factory default and did again the restore modem. i'm still doing the delete -> reinsert the devices. Any advice on programs that refers to them ? Some programs still referencing to the same device after deleting and reinserting, but even though i'm double checking everything. tedious.... Michel Kohanim
MFBra, For devices, programs have to point back to them automatically. For scenes, if you have not deleted the scene, then it should work automatically. If you have deleted the scene, then there's no guarantee that the next scene would have the same ID. I still cannot understand why File | Restore Devices didn't work. With kind regards, Michel
pjt588
Still having issues... now I'm trying to restore/relink my battery powered devices. The first four door open sensors (2845-222) worked fine by replacing the battery, putting the sensor in link mode, and then doing a "write updates" command. The last two devices seemed to have cross matched addresses, so I deleted both items from the ISY completely. I've tried re-linking them from scratch and the ISY finds the new device, but while trying to add it, I get a "Cannot determine the device link table address" message. I've tried restarting both ISY and PLM, and doing a factory reset on the sensor itself. Any other suggestions?

If you put multiple devices in the linking mode it's possible they cross linked. If that's the case then factory reset them and then re-link.
