James Peterson Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I have given it some thought and have decided to convert portal access from a subscription to a single purchase. I still feel there is too much value behind this option to give it away for free. I will also be adding additional purchase options for full access. These options fill have the choice of purchasing full access with portal or other options included. These should all be pushed out this weekend barring no issues on the wife's phone. <- she's my most vocal critic.
G W Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I'm curious to see what you came up with. I'm still very happy with my purchase. I just wish you could work on this 20 hours a day. Best regards, Gary Funk

G W Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 I'm impressed with it. I know exactly what goes into writing code and applications. Best regards, Gary Funk
shannong Posted July 15, 2016 Posted July 15, 2016 You've definitely created something of value. I've been using the trial version to test it out and will be purchasing. However, I'm not a portal user as I avoid external cloud services that affect physical security for for obvious reasons. Please keep up the development!

James, I would like to suggest you give some more thought to some kind of family plan, since you will be making changes to your pricing structure. I'm not asking you to give it away, but when you are on a fixed income full access for 2 gets expensive. I believe someone else indicated this type of option was going to be supported by the Play store in early July. Thank you.

The Family plan that Google is offering does not include in app purchases. So it does not affect my current setup.

G W Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 Google is starting to push out Family Sharing https://googleblog.blogspot.com/2016/07/google-play-family-library-share-what.html?m=1 Best regards, Gary Funk
MWareman Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 I've enabled my app for it... However, I've also discovered that 'My account isn't eligible for family sharing'. I suspect because it's a grandfathered Google Apps account...
G W Posted July 27, 2016 Posted July 27, 2016 It could be that it's still being pushed out. I don't know what you mean by Grandfathered. Best regards, Gary Funk
James Peterson Posted July 27, 2016 Author Posted July 27, 2016 Before everyone gets excited. The Family Library does not include In App Purchases. This means that I can not setup this feature for my app. Since all purchases are made in app. I was hoping that they would extend this, but I have not seen anything to confirm this to this point. I am still working on a way to achieve this without having to pull user information to a separate database on my end. I don't want that responsibility. The only thing I have on my end is a HASH created from user ids that can not be decoded without the original input, a creation date and a few other dates and counts I use for stats.

Best regards, Gary Funk You used to be able to setup Google Apps domains for free (up to 25 users). Now, you cannot (you have to pay $50/yr/user). I have the original one - grandfathered. However, I miss out on the family plans for some reason...
