ISY started working one way only

In the past two days I completely lost ability to trigger anything from my devices. Somehow ISY stopped hearing the devices. I can send commands from the ISY, but when I push a switch, no events are shown on the event viewer...

My timer programs or anything triggered within the ISY seem to work fine.

Help!

Hi Burakk,

Aha! Please try the following:

1. Unplug your PLM and wait for 1 minute, retry

2. If that does not work, factory reset your PLM and then follow it up with Restore Modem (PLM)

Please keep me posted. I do think you have a defective PLM; have you had a power failure lately?

With kind regards,

Michel

Something wrong with the RX wires from the PLM? Did you try and reboot anything?

Rebooted several times to same state.

I changed the PLM with a spare, now i'm back online. That probably means my PLM was bad, so I'll try to get the old one back online to confirm....

I did not have any power issues however, and it is on a surge protected circuit, so It's peculiar that it went bad...

I guess it is time for another RMA...

Hi Burak,

This is not good! What do you mean by surge protected circuit? Doesn't this prevent all the signals from getting through to the powerline?

With kind regards,

Michel

Nope not at all. My PLM is plugged to Verizon Fios box outlet (since I don't have the fios equipment, but do have their infrasturcture box). It has surge filtering, but does not cause any signal problems. I suspected at first that it may, but so far no problems at all...

Except of course, I lost my PLM for some reason...

Michel,

Is this a known issue with surge protectors? From what I know about surge protectors I don't see how they would block Insteon packets. But, you can't argue with what people actually see in actual usage. :?

Hi Rowland,

Long time no see!

You are right! I had it confused with UPS ... thanks so very much for pointing this out.
