piconut Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Greetings, I hope I'm just missing something but how do I get the Admin Console divider to stay where I drag it? I apparently have long device and program names and often need to drag the divider (the vertical line between the devices and the programming area) to the right so that I can see the names of the programs and devices. However, the next time I open up the Admin Console, the divider is back over to the left default position and so I find myself having to slide it to the right every time I open the Admin Console. Thanks, Scott in Austin
Teken Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I don't believe there is a method to store this setting at the moment which has been asked several times in the past. One would think it would be tied to the background scheme that is available or the Java cache for DPI for font size?!? ========================= The highest calling in life is to serve ones country faithfully - Teach others what can be. Michel Kohanim Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Hi Scott, Unless you clear your Java cache OR if Java cache is disabled, the divider location is stored on your computer. In short, you should not have to change the divider location every time. Please do make sure you follow the instructions here: http://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page#Admin_Console_Icon_on_Your_Desktop With kind regards, Michel
Teken Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Perhaps there is a specific use case to make this work. As using Google Chrome on a Windows 7 Ultimate X86 with Java cache enabled the settings don't hold when you close and reenter the Admin Console. Which I hope one day it would also remember the top headers for name, init, value, last change. You can certainly move them in that session but they don't remember their last position when you come back.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Hi Teken, Please use the app. With kind regards, Michel
Teken Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Do you mean the Java application on the desktop to launch the Admin Console? If so yes I am and the settings don't hold which is seen on firmware / UI 4.5.3
Michel Kohanim Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Hi Teken, I just tested this a few times and the divider location is stored. Are you certain you have Java cache enabled? With kind regards, Michel
Teken Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I believe so, if you can offer a screen shot of the location I shall confirm.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Hi Teken, Java Control Panel | Settings. With kind regards, Michel
Teken Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Yes, keep temp files on my computer is checked. Disk space is maxed at 32768 MB. ========================= The highest calling in life is to serve ones country faithfully - Teach others what can be. Do what is right and not what is popular.

Thank you Michel.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Hi piconut, thank you. Hi Teken, it might be that the cache has not been cleared properly. With kind regards, Michel
Teken Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 I will give it a another clear and report back my findings. It's not really the end of the world per say but wanted to offer my insight to this problem.
piconut Posted October 7, 2016 Author Posted October 7, 2016 Okay.....It isn't working. Well, sort of.... Here is where the confusion is. It DOES save the divider for the MAIN screen, but it DOESN'T save the divider for the PROGRAMS screen. Aha! My original image shows the PROGRAMS screen which is what I was having problems with. Tried numerous times and re-tried what Michel said again and same results. Can this be easily fixed? Thanks! Scott
Teken Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I believe this indeed is the problem as I see the same behavior. Also no matter what you do the top header will not save its position perhaps in the next release this can be implemented. Its not the end of the world but certainly when I am reviewing the custom emails sections and have to move the header bars over and over again it does become annoying.
Michel Kohanim Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Hi piconut, Ah, that explains it. Program divider is not saved. I'll add your request to mantis. With kind regards, Michel
Teken Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 I would add not just the program tab but also the email section also. Much Thanks
Michel Kohanim Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Hi Teken, Thank you. With kind regards, Michel
