Abode Alarm System Integration

I would love to be able to use Insteon keypads to arm/disarm my Abode security system. Abode is a new awesome alarm company that offers fee free, self monitoring and has integration with amazon Echo and z-wave devices. I just wish my ISY could interface with it so I could hard wire some Insteon keypads instead of using the battery powered keypads that Abode supplies.

I can't see any mention of an API on their website other than an IFTTT channel so I don't think what you're after is possible, unless you want to depend on IFTTT to communicate between the ISY and Abode

You might be able to use something like a Fortrezz MIMO (as long as both Abode and the ISY support it) to have the ISY set outputs and have Abode act on the status of those outputs.

ie. ISY sets the status of one of those outputs on in response to your keypad, and Abode is set up to act on the status of that output to disarm/arm the alarm.

Really very primitive and hacky, and I definitely wouldn't do that for anything security-related, but it's possible it could work.

Seems similar to the Alarm.com module, but more full featured.

It's no fun that it connects with "approved Z-Wave, ZigBee, and IP-enabled devices..." -

they might support certain (more expensive) brands but not others.

If you already have an ISY, other alarm systems would work out to be far cheaper.  They do require a little more setup, but HA/ISY is already fairly technical!

The API could easily be used to create a nodeserver for Polyglot v2. There is also a lot of redundancy here (Zwave, Zigbee, etc.) that could be stripped out since only the proprietary alarm system devices need to be controlled though the nodeserver.
