paulw Posted March 11, 2017 Share Posted March 11, 2017 Comcast has started blocking just about all ports in our area. The only ones I have found open are 21 and 443 of the more common ones. I was using a high number in replace of 80 for http but it is now blocked. Anyone using Comcast and found a work around? Yes, I am sure it is Comcast, have turned off firewall while testing. Had been using 587 for smtp, that is now closed also. Link to comment
paulbates Posted March 11, 2017 Share Posted March 11, 2017 My ip4 subnet has changed, staring with the first octet, a few times recently. But no port blocking. Is it possible you have router-behind-router and the Comcast router/cable modem is doing it? Paul Link to comment
paulw Posted March 11, 2017 Author Share Posted March 11, 2017 Have made no changes to router in a long time, did reboot it but no change, running bridge mode. I am finding that of the 20 or so more common ports only 2, 21 and 443 are open. Even remote access 3389 is now closed. Link to comment

KeviNH Posted March 12, 2017 Share Posted March 12, 2017 Comcast is forthcoming about what inbound ports they block, see https://www.xfinity.com/support/internet/list-of-blocked-ports/ If you want to set up an port forwarding for inbound connections, choose a random high port. You can run HTTPS on any port you want. What about iot that uses its own non standard ports like the isy portal?paul ISY Portal does not require any inbound ports open nor port forwarding; when using the portal your ISY994 connects outbound to the cloud server.
