jtbellush Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Is there any news on when we can expect the more robust interface with ELK that will be available for purchase? Thanks, JT
Michel Kohanim Posted February 20, 2009 Posted February 20, 2009 Hi JT, To be honest, this is currently on a low priority with top priorities being device support related. With kind regards, Michel Is there any news on when we can expect the more robust interface with ELK that will be available for purchase? Thanks, JT
BryanE Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Sorry to hear that... this is something I'm interested in as well.
simonw Posted March 6, 2010 Posted March 6, 2010 It's been a year. Any news on further ELK/ISY integration? Put me down on the interested list, please/ Simon
Michel Kohanim Posted March 7, 2010 Posted March 7, 2010 Hi Simon, It's something we are currently working on. With kind regards, Michel
Quixote Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Same here. I haven't experimented with it much, but it seems that the current arrangement is lacking. I would love to see full communication between the two and I think that it would be a very powerful combination.
Michel Kohanim Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Hi all, I can confirm that we are working on it as we speak. This exercise is being done in parallel with 2.7.12 so that we can have an official release with/without the ELK module. With kind regards, Michel
Quixote Posted March 8, 2010 Posted March 8, 2010 Great news! I can't wait to test it out for you guys.
simonw Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Hello Michel, My Elk system is nearly complete. My ISY-99 will move into the Elk closet today. Are you still hoping to have an Elk module ready at the time of the next firmware release? I realise that there are many ambitions out there for Elk/ISY integration, but for now I would quite happy with a module that simply allowed the ISY to be aware of the status of the Elk's zones, so I can integrate information from my hardwired Elk-based sensors into my ISY programs. I do not need to "push" Insteon information back to the Elk. Kind regards, Simon
Michel Kohanim Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 Hi Simon, We are going to have 2.7.14 (RC1) in a few hours. If everything goes well, we should have the official release 2.7.15 in 2 weeks. ELK will be in the release after 2.7.15 ... although I cannot guarantee a time but I am cautiously optimistic that we should have something soon. With kind regards, Michel
bTwix Posted April 21, 2010 Posted April 21, 2010 I'm looking forward to elk integration as well. Regards, Phil
bkpky Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Can you give an update for the module? Will this be a for purchase enhancement? Will their be a trial edition? I want to make sure it solves my problems before I would purchase. I want to be able to kick off ISY rules based on ELK sensor status. I'm having a lot of trouble using Insteon Motion to turn on outdoor security lighting seqences - so my hopes is an security based outdoor motion may do a better job.
Michel Kohanim Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Hello bkpky, We are working on it; as you might imagine, it's a little involved so I cannot give you an exact date. Yes, you should be able to use ELK sensor/zone status in ISY. The module will be for purchase (probably our standard $49.00). You will have 30 days to play with it as much as you like and return (no questions asked) if it does not meet your requirements. With kind regards, Michel

Michel Kohanim Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Hello kevincol, It will be posted here: http://forum.universal-devices.com/viewforum.php?f=25 We might also create an email list to which you can register. With kind regards, Michel

Michel Kohanim Posted August 31, 2010 Posted August 31, 2010 Hi kevincol, Yes, there's a very good chance. With kind regards, Michel
Michel Kohanim Posted September 24, 2010 Posted September 24, 2010 Hi bkpky, We are working on it!!! With kind regards, Michel
Michel Kohanim Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 Hi Michel! The only limitations I know of is that all clients are disconnected when ELK RP is connected. I also know that besides ELK RP you can have multiple clients communicating with M1XEP. Yes, we are going to be using M1XEP at least initially. With kind regards, Michel
bkpky Posted October 23, 2010 Posted October 23, 2010 My monthly ask... Can you give us an update on how progress is going? Is it moving, on hold, has it lost priority?
Michel Kohanim Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 Hello bkpky, LOL ... it's moving along and it's what is being worked on right now. Of course, we ran into some bugs in 2.8.4 which set us back but we are back on. With kind regards, Michel
Quixote Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Hi Michel, Just a few questions on the much anticipated Elk Module; Since it is being promoted as bi-directional (if I remember correctly), I'd like to know if the ISY will behave as a PLM/PLC connected to the serial connection would behave. Will the Elk look at the ISY for lighting configuration info? Will we be able to use our scenes and programs in the Elk programs/tasks? I am helping out on an Android application with someone for the Elk and we have a lighting section that allows us to control the lighting device attached to the system. In his (the developer's) case, he is using UPB, which seemed pretty straightforward, but it would be fantastic if the Elk would be able to enhance its lighting capabilities by using the ISY directly. I'm guessing that the Elk might need a firmware update. Just how close are you working with Elk on this project and are any of the possibilities that I mentioned plausible? Thanks for your time!
