new scene not working

I'm still a novice, but i've had some things work and others not.

Here's what i did.

i have a switch for a set of steps. its called Office-steps. It works fine and i can control it from the admin console.

i have a keypad at the other end of the hall. i created a scene, called OFFICE STEPS and placed both items in the scene as controllers. I've done this elsewhere, so i am sure i was correct.

When i press the button on the keypad, it doesnt control the light at all. No change in status. i've added and removed buttons, the light, etc from the list and added them back but no luck.

The Dimmer is a V.35 which i do have elsewhere in the place.

The Keypad is V.2D

Any thoughts as to what i am doing wrong?

I'm using an ISY99I Pro with IR.

Thanks.

Lewis, within the scene, when you select the KPL as the controller, are the levels and rates correct? If you open the Event Viewer does it display the KPL button presses?

I've made each the controller, so i think the keypad light would match the scene. When i look at the switch settings, the ramp up rate is at the quickest setting possible and the delay on time is set to the smallest time possible.

I do not see any status change of the keypad when i press buttons but i can "talk to the KP, and program it and the console accepts changes to it. I can also control other lights in the building., it is a detached building on the property and i do NOT have couplers in, since everything has been working and i felt this wasnt the issue.

View the KPL Links Table and use the Compare function. If that doesn't display any errors then it could be a bad KPL. You could try Remove/Factory Reset/Add as a last resort.

Strike that. Please try a Query on the KPL first.

I did the compare test and it came back with one listing, which was all zeros.

it was the only difference and it also had an IGNORE on there.

I did the total air gap delete the KP thing and went and re-added it to the control. I did so by entering the mac id and it found all of the buttons. But, when i go back and add it to a scene, it didnt work? I dont know now, unless i ship it back to SHP and get a replacement. The KP shows version 1.8 on the sticker, but it appears to be V.2D.

When i Query it, i don't get a status reply.

One last thing please. Select Tools/Diagnostics/Event Viewer. Press the buttons and see if the presses are displayed.

If not, back to SHP.

I tried that too, after i found it. I'm on hold with SHP right now, returning the KP and my EZIO8SA since i can't get it to work either. I can't get it to be found in the system via learning mode, It did with the previous ISY99i unit but we upgraded to an IR pro unit and now i can't seem to talk to it.

Hello Lewis,

Here's the scenario:

The old ISY firmware works with the older SHN products. 2.7.1 and above, requires newer SHN firmware because we assume they are going to have a different address space.

With kind regards,

Michel

I'm caught between two places, needing Ir and the EZIO stuff. I'll work on both directions till i find a solution with the stuff we have now. I have some parts coming tomorrow from SHP and we'll see what functions.

Worst case, i'd have to go back to the older software I guess.
