I use ISY 5.0.10. What Zwave smartlock do you recommend  that has the following features :

  • Has spare regular key(s)  to open without code
  • Allows me to give permanent code to family and separate temporary code for cleaning lady etc.
  • Controllable through Mobilinc or other (IOS) App
  • Relatively easy to install

THANKS

I've been very happy with my Schlage locks.

They can be locked and unlocked electronically or with a key.

They work fine with MobiLinc.

They allow multiple user codes.

If you can install a regular door lock and able install other Z-wave devices I think you would have no problems installing these locks.

Do you recommend a specific Schlage model ?

One of the features of the Schlage 469 deadbolt is that not only does it come with a spare key, the lock can be re-keyed to match existing keys.  The battery life is excellent, and it just works.  I've had an issue with the latest 5.0.11 firmware, but it was rock solid in prior ISY firmware versions.  UDI is working on it...

I have a few kwikset locks that work well for me. Can set user codes and schedules and have programs do things based on which code entered. Although I would assume all zwave locks would do this. They have the smart key feature to rekey them in about 30 seconds once you follow directions the first time and know how.

I am replacing my Sense lock with the 469 series but I am still waiting for my zwave add on board. I'm curious what people are using to control the lock? Add on programs or phone apps?

I have the portal, so I only need to use my voice to lock each Schlage deadbolt. No program is needed to enable locking locally. OTOH, for security reasons, a program is needed to unlock. The same is true with the Alexa phone app, you can lock but not unlock from the smartphone.

My best friend and our housekeeper each have their own codes based on their names, so easy to remember and unlikely to change. The gardener has changed twice (in more than two decades) and his helper(s) sometimes vary, so I use the last four of the gardener's phone number.

I do have a total of six locks and they're all keyed alike, it doesn't matter if they're standard, Z-Wave or any method that Schlage has available. What is missing is the ability to create a temporary code, one that expires in 1-8 days. Our gate locks do have that feature, but they're for gates only (GTO).

You can place a shortcut to a REST call on your phone.

You can use Agave in Android or MobiLinc on Apple.

There are always options.

My system pretty much controls my locks as I don't like to use apps. I have a button on my keypads that will turn on if any door is unlocked. Turning the button off will lock whatever door is unlocked. I can also manually unlock the door from any of the buttons.

I have the hidden door sensors in my doors as well. Should a door be open, it will not lock. That way a person doesn't accidently slam a locked door. Should a door be unlocked remotely for any reason, it automatically locks after a few minutes. At night the system automatically locks all locks and queries them. I then get a text with the status. There's alot more but those are the main things.
