tmorse305 Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 My house uses a Franklin SubDrive 100 Controller for the well pump. When operating it generates large amounts of electrical noise. When it was first installed 6 years ago, I added two 20 Amp wire in low pass filters which attenuated it enough for reliable Insteon communication. Recently however it has begun to interfere with Insteon commands. Has anyone else has to deal with one of these controllers? Any other suggestions to reduce the noise? Thanks, Tim http://www.franklinwater.com/products/drives-protection/residentiallight-commercial/subdrivemonodrive/#SpecsAccessories
paulbates Posted February 25, 2018 Posted February 25, 2018 There are several X10 filters that work for Insteon. Specifically I've use the XPNR for motor noise in the past, albeit fan motor not pump motor. They're rated to 240vac and wire across hot and neutral, so no load limit. Very easy to install & try. It reduces the noise above and below the frequency of x10, which is very close to insteon for the powerline. Though the directions discuss using them in addition to another x10 filter product, I've had great luck with them on a PSC furnace blower motor and low voltage lighting transformers by themselves. https://www.x10.com/xpnr-noise-reducer.html Paul
