simplextech Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 What is the process for getting old and new z-wave devices supported? Is there one?
lilyoyo1 Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 What do you mean? What device are you referring to and have you tried it? The more information you provide the better you can be helped

The more information you provide the better you can be helped I went through and added somewhere around 80+ z-wave devices in the last two days and I was very impressed. I will not list all of them but some of the broader questions. StelPro thermostat - issue resolved Multisensors - Fibaro, Zooz child devices of the multi-sensor do not work (probably known issue) Parameter settings - more feedback would be good. A query of a device provided no results (Jasco switch and Zooz switch) Parameters were set/sent and then queried this may be me not understanding the ISY way of doing this Secure device details - security information/settings are not in the node details. How can you know/verify if a device is included securely or not? Specifically when you have a device that supports both methods. Again this may be my not knowing the ISY well enough yet. S2 security plans? (S2 is really not official yet, but knowing ISY plans/roadmap would be good to know) Another thread is going about remote z-wave controller support either via remote interfacing such as ser2net or presentation via a NodeServer but this is not z-wave device related as much as being able to spread controllers around. In short most devices are working as expected. However a few mostly sensors do not and I'm curious if there's a "process" to send information in order to get those devices added. Is the forum the typical place to post such requests or through the ISY helpdesk?
Michel Kohanim Posted January 27, 2019 Posted January 27, 2019 @simplextech, Thanks as always for the feedback. 1. Child devices of multi sensors, we are working on it. Most of these issues are related to esoteric (and outside the standard) usage of association groups 2. Parameter settings … not sure what you mean 3. S2, definitely on the roadmap. The fact that this requires processing on ISY is, to me, totally nonsensical. It's like getting a WiFi or Bluetooth chip and then having the manufacturers implement the PKI on the host. Makes absolutely no sense to me and, perhaps, one of the reasons they are pushing 700 series With kind regards, Michel

The current Motion Sensor II I've received resolves everything multi-sensor purpose except humidity for me. So if there's a standalone humidity sensor for Insteon please point me in the right direction. Otherwise I need to check out the Ambient Weather polyglot or go into development (Bob may hate me) Parameters - in the z-wave options for the device I go to the 'parameters' setting. Where you can configure the setup of the device. For instance the testing I was doing was for the LED to be on/off when the light switch is either turned on or off. Those parameters. This was against a standard Jasco/GE switch and I was not able to retrieve the parameter information. BUT... I will also check this against another device today as I have a suspicion there's a problem with that switch which I'm going to verify today as well. S2 being on the roadmap is good. Considering the current state of the "standard" I wouldn't be devoting too much towards it just yet until after the 700 series is in full production mode. Speaking of 700 series I'm guessing prototyping may have begun?
