brobin Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I clicked on the automatic update to 2.7.0 and did the backup. After that the browser closed and now I cannot access the system at all. What do I do to restore the system? I fear that the firmware was wiped out and not replaced. I cannot access via telnet. My router shows that it's there but it does not show up when I use arp -a. Any help would be most appreciated!
brobin Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 Update: the schedule is still running. I just can't access the unit.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Hello brobin, I am so very sorry to hear this. If the schedule are still running, it basically means that ISY is not able to get a DHCP address. Are you certain that the programs are running? Also, can you tell me if any of the lights on the front panel are fully lit and/or blinking? And, finally, how are you trying to access your ISY: using /99i on our website or direct URL? Please do NOT factory reset your unit. I do think that the firmware has been installed and that we are dealing with a network issue. Rest assured that we'll either find the cause or will send you a replacement unit immediately. With kind regards, Michel Update: the schedule is still running. I just can't access the unit.
brobin Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 Thank you for the quick response. The programs are running because all the lights came on tonight as they should. As for the panel lights, PWR is steady ON and MEM and ERROR are slowly blinking. I tried to access it via direct URL as shown on my router's list of attached devices and by using www.universal-devices.com/27 which returns a "URL can't be found" message.
Michel Kohanim Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Hello brobin, My pleasure. If MEM/ERR lights are blinking, it means that ISY can no longer get a DHCP address from your router. Would you be kind enough to do the following: 1. Change the cable from ISY to your router (or make sure it's securely connected) 2. If 1 fails, reboot your router 3. If 2 fails, reboot your ISY Please do keep me posted. With kind regards, Michel Thank you for the quick response. The programs are running because all the lights came on tonight as they should. brobin Posted June 11, 2009 Author Posted June 11, 2009 SUCCESS! Rebooting the router fixed it. Strange since the router was reporting that it coud see the ISY. Thanks for the excellent support and for being up so late. Now I will try upgrading to 2.7.5 to get my IES working.
