DaveStLou Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 I am using v.5.0.15A. For some reason, both of my programs that configure Z-wave parameters on a switch and a plug are showing with yellow icons and no longer function. I can manually change the parameters but the programs no longer function. This one is turning off the LED on a GE Smart Dimmer switch And this one is turning on the LED on an Inovelli Smart Plug (Dimmer) Both have been running without issue for years and suddenly stopped working over the weekend. Any thoughts or troubleshooting I can do?
larryllix Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Try doing a restore on each device. I can't remember seeing the yellow icon for a while but my guess is it isn't communication properly. If the restore doesn't work try a factory reset on each device followed by another restore in admin console. They are battery devices so must be in the linking mode first. Have an electrical storm just before?
kclenden Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Have you tried rebooting the ISY? Any messages showing up in the Error Log?

Have an electrical storm just before? No electrical storms. I haven't reset the devices but neither of them is showing yellow - just the programs. Getting late tonight. I may try excluding and including again tomorrow. I can send parameter changes directly to the device so it doesn't seem to me to be a device issue. 56 minutes ago, kclenden said: Have you tried rebooting the ISY? Any messages showing up in the Error Log? Nothing in the error log. The programs just don't fire - they don't show up as having run on the summary screen. I tried a reboot but no change.
DaveStLou Posted September 17, 2019 Author Posted September 17, 2019 I just noticed that the summary page shows this: "Not Loaded | Out of memory" I wonder what that means?
DaveStLou Posted September 17, 2019 Author Posted September 17, 2019 I search for post on the "Not Loaded | Out of memory" issue and found reference here to mismatch between UI and firmware version: https://forum.universal-devices.com/topic/24076-motion-sensor-to-control-scene-problem/?do=findComment&comment=240495 but mine are both the same: Open to other ideas and continuing to search.
Bumbershoot Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Have you tried making a modest change to the programs, saving them, then changing them back to the original values then saving them again? Easy enough to try...
larryllix Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Do you have the Pro option for ISY? You may be out of memory space with too many programs.
Michel Kohanim Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 @DaveStLou, It could also mean that there's an error in program and thus not being saved. This is especially the case with some programs that are migrated from 4.x to 5.x. With kind regards, Michel

Yes, I have Pro. 4 hours ago, Michel Kohanim said: It could also mean that there's an error in program and thus not being saved. There's not much to these programs. Just the parameter changes. Of note - I originally had included one of the parameter changes in a scene. That stopped working correctly over the weekend which is when I noticed the program parameter-change issue. I can no longer update the scene below - it just ignores the Update button click Given that, I find it odd that I can query and update the parameter directly when I go to the device
larryllix Posted September 17, 2019 Posted September 17, 2019 Years back when things got messed up occasionally, the fix was to load each program line by selecting the line, and them click update. The process would relink the text values back into the programs with renewed tokens and all would be forgiven. Don't forget to hit save on each when done. Sent using Tapatalk

Tried again just now. No change. I tried setting up a brand new program. As soon as I add line with the set device parameter and save, it turns yellow and shows "Not Loaded | Out of memory" on the summary tab listing of programs.

Sounds like you need to open a ticket with UDI. I would be sure UDI would like to see the inside of this thing for future design and troubleshooting, also.

IIRC some people reported "Out of Memory" errors after converting from v4 to v5. Some were able to resolve their problems by increasing the memory allocated in the Java Runtime. Have you tried doing that? Here are the instructions from the first post in the 5.0.15A thread:

It allowed me to see my programs which was another problem I had recently but it didn't solve this issue. I opened a support ticket with UDI.
DaveStLou Posted September 23, 2019 Author Posted September 23, 2019 Posting this for anyone who may run into this issue. I tried a number of things but ultimately it took a second reset of my ISY to get the problem to disappear. Don't know why it was running short of memory but all is well now.
DaveStLou Posted October 14, 2019 Author Posted October 14, 2019 Since upgrading to 5.0.16 this issue has reared it's ugly head again. Symptoms are the same. I can change the parameters manually but any program that attempts to change parameters has turned yellow. I've tried on other Z-wave devices and result is the same. I tried rebooting as I did last month but the problem continues. Very frustrating.
