JTsao Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 I am in the process of setting up a Logitech Harmony Companion remote + hub and it seems that Logitech limits the yellow home control buttons (light bulb or socket icons) to a small list of devices that doesn't include the ISY. Does anyone know how to assign ISY infrared commands to those buttons? Or is it possible for the Harmony Polyglot 2 Nodeserver to be added as a home control device such that those buttons can be used? (I currently don't have an RPi, but have pre-ordered the Polisy Pro) Thanks in advance for any replies.
lilyoyo1 Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 (edited) The isy receives infrared it does not send. It allows you to trigger programs from the signal it receives While I use the harmony nodeserver I've never looked to see if those buttons can be mapped. I prefer 1 touch actions such as my lights turning down when I go to watch a movie etc. Edited September 27, 2019 by lilyoyo1
carealtor Posted September 27, 2019 Posted September 27, 2019 I suggest you look into the Hue Emulator in Polyglot. It will allow you to control ISY devices and scenes with the Harmony home control buttons. It does not use IR, which I find to be much better. I can probably help if you get stuck. 1

You can then add that to the Harmony, I've been very successful using it. 1
carealtor Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 @DaveStLou Here is the main thread: You don't need a Hue Hub or a Hue anything for that matter. I don't have any Hue products. Looks like are well versed in using Polyglot, so just install the Hue Emulator from the store. In the ISY AC put a "1" (without quotes) in the spoken of any devices or scenes you want to control. Make sure the Hue Emulator is in listen mode. Go to your MyHarmony devices Home Control tab and scan for devices. It should find a Hue Hub and bring in the ISY devices. Then just add to the Home Control buttons. 1
JTsao Posted September 30, 2019 Author Posted September 30, 2019 Thanks for the replies - so it looks like when my Polisy shows up I should set up the Hue Hub Emulator, which will allow me to use those dedicated smart home buttons on the remote. Seems like unnecessary work if Logitech would just allow me to assign the ISY IR codes to those buttons, or if they would support IP to the ISY994 directly. (I have the network module).
carealtor Posted September 30, 2019 Posted September 30, 2019 (edited) Maybe. But I try to get away from IR whenever I can. This setup lets the Harmony Hub communicate with the ISY over IP instead. My wish for Logitech/Harmony is that they would incorporate more components into their IP controllable database. Both my Sony receiver and Bluray are IP controllable, but the Harmony does not have the capability to do it. So I have to use IR for those. Edited September 30, 2019 by carealtor
