Dustin Goodwin
I have a custom home automation device I have built using a Raspberry PI. I would like to control that custom device via Scenes activated from Insteon keypads. The standard Insteon Gateway does not allow me to integrate this device into scenes via API. And using the Insteon relay module would be my only choice using just Insteon devices. It seems stupid to integrate my device into Scenes using a relay module when my custom device is IP based and I can build whatever is need on top of the IP layer. It was recommend to me that I could accomplish this using the ISY994i platform. Anyone have experience triggering none Insteon devices from a Scene activated by Insteon keypad using the ISY994i? lilyoyo1
There's multiple ways of doing this. The easiest would be network resources since you have an API. Then you could just program that resource to trigger whenever a button was pressed. If you want it as part of a "native" (used loosely) insteon scene, you would need to create a nodeserver in order to make it work. The good thing about this way is that it would allow you to get status from your device vs only controlling it Link to comment
