Posted November 20, 20195 yr I just received the new Inovelli LZW31-SN switch that does not need neutral. It requires that the lamp has a minimum of 25 Watt bulb(s). In my case I have one location in my home where it was impossible to connect a Neutral wire to the switch and I was looking forward to this new device from Inovelli. This afternoon I installed it and there is good and bad news........ The switch works, but I can not include it to my ISY network. It detects the device but then stops the inclusion before completion. I have tried this several times but no luck. Anyone has any ideas ? Edited November 20, 20195 yr by asbril

So I connected the ISY to one of the pucks, about 8 ft from the switch. What I don't understand is that it actually recognizes the switch but does not complete the inclusion.....

Try a heavy loading incandescent bulb until the inclusion is done, then switch back to a lesser load?? Edited November 21, 20195 yr by larryllix

There are 6 of them, each 40 Watt, total 240 Watt, while Inovelli's minimum specs is 25 Watt, so it should be more than enough.

After receiving quick and extensive support from Inovelli, I tried again with a different inclusion method, but with no success. Having a another of these switches, I temporarely put that switch to replace an existing Zwave switch near my ISY hub, and actually also connected the Neutral wire in this case. At first I used the auto-inclusion procedure ( 1. turn power to switch off; 2. put ISY to Add Zwave device 3. turn power to switch on) and when that did not work, I clicked the switch's configuration button 3 times as prescribed. I also reset the switch to factory default (press configuration button for 20 seconds, and tried inclusion again. In all cases, ISY actually "sees" the device but does not complete the inclusion. My conclusion for the time being is that Inovelli's inclusion process for this switch does not work with ISY and I actually suggested to Inovelli to work with UDI to get this resolved. I am also willing to send one of my two LZW31-SN to UDI if they are willing to test it. I would think that more people would be interested in a ZWave switch that does not require a Neutral wire.

November 23, 20195 yr I had issues with some inovelli stuff linking/paring before and as I recall I had to tap 6 times fast to exclude and then again to include. Did you exclude it before trying to include it?

February 27, 20205 yr Author I used to be a fan of Inovelli, but lately I have come to the conclusion that these are not made to work with ISY. lilyoyo1 has a point that the different manufacturers of Zwave devices each have their own inclusion/exclusion process, and the one of Inovelli is just not working with ISY. I also have reservations about other cheaper manufacturers such as Zooz. From now on I am sticking with Homeseer and GE/Jasco switches. Edited February 27, 20205 yr by asbril

They are the exact same devices from the exact same manufacturer. https://www.zwaveproducts.com/collections/z-wave-in-wall-dimmers
