Status not updating

I have been using ISY99 with insteon for years and have just moved to a new house and started over from zero. I installed some Leviton z-wave light switches and a new ISY99-z . The issue I'm having is that the z wave switches do not update the status on ISY automatically. If I query the switch the status gets updated properly, but If I manually turn on a light and don't run a query in ISY the status is wrong in the ISY?

The older switches send out a “Hail” signal when activated. If you want to keep what you have, There is a thread here describing how to write a simple program to work around this issue, which is what I do. Quick search for “Hail” should find it but let me know if you need more help.

So once you make the Hail program to force a Query, whats the proper way to act on it?  I have another program set up that will run if a switch is "OFF".

So do you need to Query "Control -> Is Switched Off", or "Status -> Is Off"?  Or do you Query both of those with an OR Condition?

Had this exact same issue - I have several Leviton DZ15S switches and it was driving me crazy that I couldn't get status on them until I did a Hail program. I didn't know they were "older".

I am not the expert here but given these are older switches, it might be more dependable to set a state variable to track the light on/off condition then use that as a trigger for your program.

I'm confused on this now.  I bought 4 of these switches from the same Amazon listing. They are all DZ15S switches.  Some of them only send a Hail signal but don't update status in real-time while others send a full Report and are constantly up to date in real-time.

How is that possible?  Did Leviton update these and not differentiate them with a new model number?

As I said, someone else will have to weigh in here because I have older Leviton switches.  My "oldest old" switch is bottom toggle only and does update status.  My "old" switch (and matching dimmer switches) has a top/bottom toggle design and does not update status, requiring the "hail" program above.

I searched your switch number on Amazon and noticed a "-1BZ" tagged onto the number for the "latest zwave capabilities", which leads me to believe that Leviton is keeping the same main switch number and designating capabilities with the modifier.  I am not surprised at all that Amazon sent two different age switches in the same order.

Sorry I can't be more helpful.

It's possible that they are the "same" switch but different firmware.

Oh, that could certainly explain it.  They are all labeled Z-Wave Plus, bought in the last 4 months, and no markings to indicate a difference.  Firmware could very well be different.
