Brad Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 I upgraded Polisy using: sudo pkg update && sudo pkg upgrade sudo reboot Now it's stuck in a constant bootloop. It stays up for about 10 seconds before it auto reboots itself. Any suggestions on how to proceed from here to get it to stay up? I managed to pull the log off the box. Here is the pertinent info that shows the manual reboot and then shows that root is rebooting by itself: Aug 2 16:13:25 polisy reboot[6626]: rebooted by admin Aug 2 16:13:25 polisy syslogd: exiting on signal 15 Aug 2 16:14:22 polisy syslogd: kernel boot file is /boot/kernel/kernel Aug 2 16:14:22 polisy kernel: ---<<BOOT>>--- Aug 2 16:14:22 polisy kernel: Copyright (c) 1992-2019 The FreeBSD Project. Michel Kohanim Posted August 2, 2020 Posted August 2, 2020 @Brad, How many times has it gone through this? Please note that udx process removes unnecessary packages and then installs necessary ones. This might cause the unit to reboot at least once and up to 3 times (if you have an older version). With kind regards, Michel

With kind regards, Michel Several dozen times. I finally managed to ssh into it long enough to issue a shutdown and I now have it unplugged because I got tired of hearing it beeping. Should the udx process show what it's doing in the log?
Michel Kohanim Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Hi @Brad, Yes, you should see the logs in /var/udx/logs/debug.log. If you're still having problems, please request and RMA from sales@universal-devices.com ... I suspect it's resource related. Perhaps you are running out of disk space (df -h). With kind regards, Michel

Michel Kohanim Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Hi @Brad, Yes, but it's best to figure out what's causing it. Can you please send me the udx log to support@universal-devices.com? With kind regards, Michel

Michel Kohanim Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Thank you @Brad. It seems that it's failing to install p37-zeep. Most probably because your Polisy is not on the right OS level. Can you please do hostname -a and send me the output? With kind regards, Michel
Brad Posted August 3, 2020 Author Posted August 3, 2020 @Michel Kohanim -a is an invalid option admin@polisy:~$ hostname -a hostname: illegal option -- a usage: hostname [-f] [-s | -d] [name-of-host] Upon logging in via ssh, I get FreeBSD 12.1-RELEASE-p1 r355229 POLISY

Michel Kohanim Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 @Brad, Have you changed the repositories? With kind regards, Michel
Brad Posted August 3, 2020 Author Posted August 3, 2020 I don't believe so. Here's the conf file admin@polisy:~$ sudo cat /etc/pkg/FreeBSD.conf Password: # $FreeBSD: releng/12.1/usr.sbin/pkg/FreeBSD.conf.quarterly 346780 2019-04-27 04:00:50Z cperciva $ # # To disable this repository, instead of modifying or removing this file, # create a /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf file: # # mkdir -p /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos # echo "FreeBSD: { enabled: no }" > /usr/local/etc/pkg/repos/FreeBSD.conf # FreeBSD: { url: "pkg+http://pkg.FreeBSD.org/${ABI}/quarterly", mirror_type: "srv", signature_type: "fingerprints", fingerprints: "/usr/share/keys/pkg", enabled: yes }
Michel Kohanim Posted August 3, 2020 Posted August 3, 2020 Hi Brad, Checking into this. Not sure why py37-zeep is not available. Perhaps there's an error in our nightly builds. I'll get back to you asap. With kind regards, Michel
