ios ISY portal on iPad etc.

I am very interested in being able to modify programs, monitor device status, etc on my iPad using the admin console .

Is there a plan on porting the admin console to IOS creating a way to modify programs etc on an iPad, or iPhone. I do not want to use MobiLinc primarily due to its extreme cost. If so, is there a time line?

ISY Admin Console runs on java. Java has been running under almost every operating system for decades.
Once the admin console is ported over the HTML5/CSS/js it will run on any browser than runs under any O/S.

Yes. The java admin console was launched about a decade ago and improved every few months.

The HTML5 conversion is not known when. It has been worked on but many other more important projects sidelined it over the past few years.

UDI very (in)famously refuses to commit to even likely release dates for anything. And I share your frustration (as I type this on an iPad).

I have to defend UDI on this one.  If they were a larger company maybe not, but for a company the size of UDI the roadmap is going to be ever changing.  After a discussion in another thread, I spent considerable time yesterday afternoon reflecting on this.

Lets make up a hypothetical.  Lets say the Energy Engineers from the state of Yahtzeetah called up UDI and said we'll give you a guarantee for 50,000 ISY's over the next 12 months if you can support our emerging Y-wave protocol for load shedding by the end of this year.  It would probably be stupid for UDI to pass up that deal.  But guess what?  All development priorities just changed!

That said, while I understand ever changing priorities and the difficulties of publishing a roadmap for this size of organization, I don't understand why some much needed bug fixes to a Beta, that calls it current releases "RC"s, are allowed to sit and collect dust and cobwebs for multiple years.

Precisely and thank you. And, if the same utility companies paid us to develop an app, we would do it in a heartbeat. Again, an extremely large percentage of our revenue comes from those contracts and not SmartHome. Additionally, Z-Wave+ certification wrecked havoc in all our normal processes including bug fixes. Things should go smoother in a couple of weeks (we already got Z-Wave+ certified).

And, finally, soon there will be announcement of the latest addition to our team who will be 100% focused on app/UI development.

I see the points. Fair enough. What I've recently come to realize is that UDI is focused on markets other than the home automation enthusiast. Great for them, I hope. But it tells me I need to keep that in mind unless I personally plan to open a utility company.

Their focus is on what pays the bills. Every business is (even much larger corporations). This why you see new Samsung phones getting bug fixes when they first come out while bugs (such as the gps one) are still waiting for a fix 4 months later. Its not that the isy is nothing to them. Automation means alot to them which is why there is progress (especially from what Michel just mentioned about a developer).

If a person has a job that will pay 5k but other jobs come along that will pay 30k. Which one would anyone take? Its not that the 5k job doesnt matter, just the higher paying jobs has the most influence. In fact, this diversity is what helps them help us. The additional income allows them the ability to expand the isy and do much more than they probably would be capable of....including keeping the isy (and other accessories) at a low price point.
