I Also Have several devices added to the ISY but having trouble getting the amazon devices to control though them. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Jeff
Mecheng70 Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 Could do what it says and download the 5.3.0 version of the admin console. 6 . After the upgrade, You must clear your Java Cache 7. Launch the 5.3.0 Admin Console and/or Dashboard by going to the following link: - https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp Note: If you have version 5.0.8 or lower installed on your ISY, then use this link instead: - http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/5.3.0/admin.jnlp Note: MAC 10.6.x users must use the following links instead - http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/5.3.0/admin16.jnlp (Admin Console) - http://isy.universal-devices.com/994i/5.3.0/dashboard16.jnlp (Dashboard) 1
wintermute Posted September 5, 2021 Posted September 5, 2021 (edited) Please try the suggestions outlined above. Also, are you on a Mac by chance? I’ve noticed some weirdness lately running / trying to run Start.jnlp and Admin.jnlp on my Mac, even after emptying the cache, etc. I’m not sure what the issue is myself… it might have to do with recent security updates and new anti-tracking / Private Addresses that Apple has implemented on recent versions of MacOS. —Things aren’t even consistent between two different macs when running the admin console and having downloaded them the same way. Really odd since Java is meant to run the same regardless of platform. As soon as I booted into Bootcamp running Windows 10 on my Mac, everything worked as expected. Just something to try if you happen to be Mac based yet have access to a Windows machine. (Spoke too soon... Windows had problems, too. Possibly a network communication issue. Still investigating.) As far as controlling devices, I have found the new UD Mobile to be much more responsive than other apps that have worked with my ISY in the past, even though I am running them all solely on the local network. I can only guess that those other apps need to be updated for more recent releases of iOS for them to function as well. Edited September 6, 2021 by wintermute struck-out incorrect information

I will assume you have ISY Portal since you are tying to control through Amazon (Echo) so will ask if you’ve logged in and added them to the Alexa interface so you can then control them with the UDI skill on the Echo? it sounds like you haven’t properly followed the directions to upgrade firmware and having MAC issues with Java and admin console, but also haven’t added new devices to the Alexa connection through the ISY portal. Good luck fixing the issues. Try to focus on fixing one issue at a time so you don’t mess too much up.
