pacificsloop Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 Hi, One additional issue. I have one Keypad Linc conifigured for 8 buttons however, the ISY only can "see" it as a 6 configuration. I have removed and re-added the device however, still only 6. Also in the event viewer, the ISY does not show any traffic if button 7 or 8 is pressed. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Quote
oberkc Posted December 31, 2009 Posted December 31, 2009 One has to reprogram them from one type to another. The steps are in the instructions, available online from smarthome if you have lost them. Quote
pacificsloop Posted January 1, 2010 Author Posted January 1, 2010 Hi Oberkc - The keypad is already set up as an 8 button, I also attempted to reset the keypad (per the smarthome instructions) and the ISY still only shows this it as a six button. Quote
Michel Kohanim Posted January 1, 2010 Posted January 1, 2010 Hello pacificsloop, ISY reads a byte in the KPLs firmware to determine the number of buttons. As such, I am almost certain that your KPL is currently in 6 button mode. What you need to do is: 1. Pull out the set button and wait 10 seconds 2. Push the set button back in and leave it in for 10 seconds 3. Press and hold buttons A and H before releasing the set button Remove the KPL from ISY and then add it again. With kind regards, Michel Hi Oberkc - The keypad is already set up as an 8 button, I also attempted to reset the keypad (per the smarthome instructions) and the ISY still only shows this it as a six button. pacificsloop Posted January 9, 2010 Author Posted January 9, 2010 Hi Michel, Still no luck. I have reset the KPL, changed it to 6 button mode and back to 8 (using the instructions you provided). I have removed the device from the ISY and attempted to re-add. After button D, the ISY now appears to get "stuck".....with a message "initializing system". I attempted a reboot and same problem. As an FYI, my old home-linc software sees this as an 8 button device. Thanks for any additional help / ideas you have. Quote

In the meantime, can post back what ISY reports this device to be + the numbers after v. in the Admin Console. Thanks and with kind regards, Michel Quote
