Water Leak Sensors

I am a new IoP owner with all Insteon devices. Basic programming has gone well with all of my devices, but now getting ready to set up my leak sensors. I found this article from 2019, so I wanted to reach out to the ISY pro’s to confirm this is the best way to go for setting up the leak detectors. Appreciate all comments in lay terms for us non-geeks. Thanks!

What are you using for leak sensors?

All Insteon leak sensors here, and I've been using these programs for at least six years.  Flawless.  I found these programs here on the forums.  They're a bit of work to set up, but they've been 100% reliable.  No real leaks, though, but the programs get exercised occasionally from housekeeping.

@Bumbershoot - So, you agree with the article I attached for setting up my leak sensors?

Set up your leak sensors as you would any other battery-operated device. Put the sensor into linking mode then click on New Insteon device in the linking window of the admin console. It will auto discover the device.

Make sure only one battery operated device is in the linking mode at any one time or you could get corrupted links

This is a newer suite of programs than I'm running, but they are very similar.  I would say yes, set them up this way.  Once you get one or two set up, give them a test by activating a sensor.

I have to say the author of that web blog did a fantastic job in laying out all of the steps. @FloridaGary Thanks for sharing this new resource with the community! ?

Hi @TekenI have to admit, for a non-techie like me, the greater the detail the greater chance of my success following it. I also worry about the many new ISY users who may find it difficult to just schedule a light to turn on/off. The resources are immense, but a bit scattered and language needs updating. All that aside, I’m loving it!!! ?

I also have an Insteon only system in my home.

Been working with Universal Devices 994 and now Polisy for 10 plus years in my home.

One thing I added to the water sensors is alarm and light fading.

Since I feel a water leak can be a major problem.
