Received Polisy and PLM 2413s - setup issues

Ok...

I don't want to waste any one's time here and this problem has probably come up multiple times before but here goes.

Just received my polisy and insteon plm 2413s. The initial setup up went relatively smoothly although I cannot change the ip address on the polisy by clicking on the dhcp settings in the configuration setup menu. Its just fixed @ 192.168.1.157

The other thing that I cant figure out it why the polisy is not seeing the insteon plm.

Their is  power to the plm. The green light is on. The ethernet cable is connected from the plm to the left ethernet port located on the back of the plm looking at it from the front.

I'm not sure what the issue is.

Do I need a DB9 to RJ45 serial cable to connect the polisy to the insteon plm?

On the bright side my USB zwave plugin zooz stick is operational, but I do not have any zwave devices to test it with.

All my devices in my house are insteon. I have over 85 devices and I thought I would give polisy a shot before I started removing everything insteon and starting from scratch.

Any help would be appreciated

Yes, use the serial to RJ45 cable hidden inside of the 2413S box. A standard Ethernet cable won’t allow a serial connection to the Polisy.

Do not connect the PLM to the ethernet port, it must be connected to the DB9 port.

To interface the 2413S with the Polisy you'll need the cable that shipped with the PLM. It should be in the box hidden in the packing material. If you don't have the cable, then you can buy one here:

PLM Serial Cable - Smartenit

The Insteon box in the Polisy configuration menu must be checked.

Ive attached the Polisy wiki page which details how to set things up on polisy as I figured it would come in handy to help you get started with polisy.

The two ethernet ports are possibly for future enhancements. The USB ports can be used for the Z-wave dongle and /or a USB PLM (2413U)

The USB ports will also support the 2448A7 which is an RF only Insteon PLM dongle.

@Prana electric Congrats on getting things and good luck setting it up! I guess you didn't read through the information provided on your prior post that pretty much gave you everything you'd need to set up and running. Good luck as you learn!

Does anyone ever do that? ?

I didn't see this above, but it could be there because I just quickly scanned.

The PLM must be powered up and connected before Polisy is booted or it will not be detected.  Plug the PLM in wait at least 30 seconds for it to boot, make sure there is a solid green light... then start Polisy up.
