This may be a dumb question but with INSTEON going away, can I use my ISY994i with the Z-wave daughter card to simply be a Z-wave controller?  We just moved from our house to a condo and I don't really want to go through the INSTEON installation process based on the company's status. I don't think I need the PLM to control Z-wave devices do I?  I'm obviously a novice in the Z-wave world and am sad that INSTEON is going away.  (Maybe some other company will swoop in and buy them and keep it alive.  One can hope,). 

I also have a Honeywell Lyric Security Controller in the Condo we bought which also does Z-wave so maybe I can just use that?

The ISY will work without a PLM, but you may need to manually update to the Z-Wave only firmware or it will remain in safe mode.  This is a simple process of downloading the firmware file, then point the ISY to the location of the downloaded zip file from the Admin Console ->  Help -> Manually Upgrade ISY.

I'm moving from Insteon to Z-Wave using a 994i and so far so good.  I haven't found anything as nice as the Keypadlinc(s) but so far I've got Kwikset, Leviton, Zooz, and GE Enbrighten stuff on my Z-Wave (500) network and all is well.  And a few remaining Insteon devices.

@Javi thanks.  I've looked for the Z-wave firmware in the wiki and can't find it.  Can anyone point me to it?  

Also, my Z-wave version is 6.81.00.  Is that still current?  Not sure if I need an upgrade or not.  I added this Z-wave daughter card to my ISY994i a while ago.    Thanks!!

 

One other question: I'm thinking I should probably do a factory reset on my entire ISY994i/Z-wave combo since we're in a new house and I'm getting off of INSTEON.  I think I should start clean.  Agree?

for ISY994 version 5.3.4 check this thread:

In step 3 (download firmware), there are 2 links to choose from.  The first is for ISY994's with a PLM, the second is for ISY994's without a PLM.

It's not in the wiki. It's where it's always been under the sub forum software releases and updates> current releases.

***Thanks to @MrBill who alerted me that there is a link in the wiki which will take you to the current release subforum. I was incorrect saying it's not there.***

Sorry @lilyoyo1 it's been a while since I've done much with my ISY.  It just ran and I didn't have to think about it.  Now, moving to a new home and with getting out of INSTEON, it's taking me a bit to jump back in.

No worries. Just showing how easy it is to find general information like this on the forums now. @Geddyput in a lot of time and effort to clean things up and make the every day items much easier to locate and use

My 994i reports Z-Wave version at 6.82.01 . I was looking to see if this was the latest but I can't seem to find anything (yet).

That's the latest and only version for the isy

That's the latest and only version for the 500 series z-wave board.  300 series reports 4.55.00.
