ISY994 having multiple issues - UI is getting stuck

Recommended Posts

I seem to be having multiple issues with the ISY Admin Console Java UI today.  It seems to be doing a never ending loop of "system busy" progress bars.  If I go to the Programs tab, it gets stuck on Loading and never finishes.  When I tried to query a device it gave me an error "isy994 driver not found no network connection [[DHCP] state=RENEW]".

Also, when I try to control devices using the mobile app I'm getting "error 404" errors.  Google Home no longer works to control devices either.

Any idea what is causing all these issues?  Both the firmware and UI are on version 5.3.4.  Java is version 8 update 341. I tried unplugging the ISY and replugging it in.

Have you done this?

Java runtime memory (when Admin Console is very slow to respond)

-      If the admin console is slow to respond, it is likely you need to increase the amount of memory allocated to the Java runtime (JRE).

-      Open the Java Control Panel, select Java tab, press View button, then add or modify the Runtime Parameter -Xmx to the following:

o   -Xmx512m

-      Press Ok to close the window, then Press Apply to save the changes

Yeah, I have that set.  One of the things I tried is updating to the latest version of Java, which apparently made it lose that Runtime Parameter, but I added it back (to both the 32 bit and 64 bit versions).

I'm not sure if the programs are running either.  And I'm not able to control any devices from https://my.isy.io/ (it shows the devices, but clicking on/off doesn't do anything).  At the bottom of that page it says "error, Loading: /nodes/17 28 F9 1/cmd/DON".

It just seems like pretty much nothing is working correctly.

I looked at the log and it has lots of queue full messages like this:

There are about five or six of those queue full messages each minute.

This sounds like you’ve got a program stuck in a loop.

@MrBill has made a post recently about braking the look so you can control the programs again.

Check this thread out:

Hopefully that gets you squared away. If you can get to the summary tab of the program see if one keeps running or see what’s most recently run.

Post back if still having issues once you set the folder option to stop all programs. Make sure you just use this test folder option in the ROOT program folder.

So, just posting an update on this, eventually I found from the log that there was an Insteon device (a sensor) that was sending multiple status changes every second or so, and that was causing everything to get overwhelmed.  Once I removed that device the problems cleared up.

Thanks for the report. What type of sensor was it?
