Does anyone know what it means when the middle red LED under the inside Schlage button on a BE469 (Z-Wave) deadbolt won't turn off?  It is used to indicate that tamper alarms are selected but it's just supposed to flash - there's no documentation or anything that I can find regarding a solid "ON" for this button...

I’ve never seen that.  Something is in an odd state.  I’ll be surprised if you get a satisfying answer to your question.

First thing I would do is to take out the batteries, wait a few heartbeats, then put them back in, and hope for the best.  Reboot it.  Kinda like running Windows 98.

Ive never seen that either though its been years since ive used a Schlage lock. I didnt find anything online either. If I had to hazard a guess, I would say there is corruption in its memory/programming somehow. Schlage CS would probably be your best bet

Red light has not gone away and the Schlage lock is also draining batteries really fast - so it will be replaced
