Hi All,

Is it possible to upgrade ISY994 4.9.0 to the current release? If so how is this performed?

Once upgraded, is it possible migrate my Insteon setup to the Polisy?

Thx

Yes to both. Follow the instructions on the firmware upgrade page found on under the current release section

If you have a ZWave board. Pay close attention to where the older board support was ended. Later version if you have a ZWave board only work with the new board. So you would need which board you have before picking a firmware version.

Another way of saying...

You can upgrade isy994 to 5.0.16C if you have a zwave 300 series board and can upgrade to 5.4.4 if you have a zwave 500 series board or no zwave.

I compiled a list of steps to get from 4.x fw to 5.x fw and it’s posted here somewhere. Find it to prepare for what’s ahead. Complexity and time required depend on type and numbers of devices and programs.

ISY994 latest release is 5.3.4 (not taking into account the z-wave comments above).

@rswyman As the posts above outline where to find the updates and what to know before going to the update I will caution you...READ all the update instructions. If you're not a frequent user of the ISY994 admin console you might stumble into a few issues with the update process.

Keys to keep in mind:

  • z-wave board version (if you have z-wave enabled ISY994)
  • Make note of any programs that have "Adjust scene"
  • Make note of DISABLED programs (there have been several notes that in the upgrade process all programs become enabled)
  • Make sure you're using the ISY Launcher method to access Admin Console

Good luck! Post back if you run into any issues with the update.
