PLM Issue I think

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have the latest beta installed (2.7.12) on a ISY99i - I have done a factory reset - the ISY is as factory apart from I have set a static IP. I can logon to the ISY and it says ready. If I go to 'Start Linking' the linking dialog appears for about 2 seconds then disappears. I've factory reset my PLM and checked my cables. Not sure what to try next...

Hi Jon,

Would you be kind enough to go to Tools | Diagnostics | Show PLM Status/Info and let me know what you see?

If you see disconnected, please try a different cable between the PLM and Port A. If that does not work, then it's a defective PLM.

If it does not show disconnected, then - again - please try a different cable between the PLM and port A. If that does not work, try adding a device using Add New INSTEON Device. If that fails, then you have a defective PLM.

With kind regards,

Michel

Hi Michael,

Thanks for your prompt reply. I tried what you said. Looks like I have a dead PLM.

I see there is a dual band PLM available now - should I get that or stick with the original?

Hi Jon,

I do not think you can purchase 2412s independently anymore. 2413S has been tested and as long as you do not have thermostat dongle V1 it should work. This said, however, you do need a power supply:

5-30v, 300 mA (min), and center positive.

You can purchase a power supply from us directly but when adding shipping costs it becomes a little more expensive than if you get one from Radio Shack or Frys.

With kind regards,

Michel
