andrewherman
Was in ISY on Polisy, indicated I should backup and then upgrade, did the backup now Polisy not coming back up online, tried rebooting. Only one led showing on Polisy box. Not in my device/IP router table, not online, any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks, Andrew Link to comment
tlightne
Did you unplug the power and wait a few seconds then repower your Polisy?? Just doing a backup should not make your Polisy go offline.. 1 Link to comment
Techman
Try clearing your Java cache, including installed applications, then download the IoX Launcher Do you see the Polisy in the IoX Launcher Link to comment
Techman
Current firmware for Polisy is 5.5.4 Try removing power from the Polisy, then clear your java cache, including installed applications, then download the IoX Launcher. Link to comment

Waiting might help, or you could try to find the new IP. Link to comment
andrewherman
Found the new IP. However, can't get Iox finder to locate, even manually input in finder. Also, log in to polisy, says ISY is there but no luck getting in on finder. Maybe upgrade failed?? Thanks. Link to comment

Https://ip.of.pol.ISY:8443/desc or http://ip.of.pol.ISY:8080/desc replace ip.of.pol.ISY with the ip address. how long did you wait before you unplugged it? You could have perhaps interrupted it. andrewherman
I will give this a try and see what happens. Maybe I corrupted the update? How can I reinstall? I do have a backup. Thanks. Link to comment

DennisC
Read through the section of wiki starting here: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Polisy:User_Guide#Update_and_Upgrade_All_the_Packages It starts by talking about using the multifunction button to trigger an update. It all's indicated the perfered method of updating by using the update packages button. However, if you can't get in, you won't be able to use that button. Reading a bit further, there are instructions for the finder not locating Polisy. Link to comment
MrBill
Open a ticket with UD support... you likely need more assistance at this point than a user to user forum can give https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets/ Link to comment
Solution andrewherman Posted January 22, 2023 Author Solution Share Posted January 22, 2023 I did open a ticket. Reinstalled old ISY and it picked up and ran like a champ. At least I have most of the functionality running. Thanks for your help. Link to comment
larryllix
Possibly the new port number usage is a problem? Some updates can change port numbers. Edited January 22, 2023 by larryllix Link to comment
Beaker
Greetings, Having issues with pkg upgrade. I initiated the package upgrade via the Poliisy console. The Console exited out as expected and all appeared good. waited several minutes and attempted to log into the Polisy console and found that the Polisy was no longer listed in the launcher. Attempted to re-add it an unable to connect error was generated. Rebooted the Polisy from the command line but still no luck. The following warning messages I noted in the messages file: /etc/rc: WARNING: $ud_pkg_stat_enable is not set properly - see rc.conf(5) From here I executed the following command, sudo pkg upgrade -Fn , and found that the following package was listed for upgrade: node19: 19.5.0 [udi] At this point given I'm not able to get into the Policy console via the ISY Launcher, I manually attempted to upgrade node19: 19.5.0 from the Polisy command line and this resulted in the following error: pkg: node19-19.5.0 conflicts with node18-18.13.0 (installs files into the same place). Problematic file: /usr/local/bin/corepack. Has anyone seen anything similar and/or can assist in further troubleshooting? Cheers, Ken Link to comment

Give restarting udx a try in you're comfortable at the command line: sudo service udx restart Link to comment
Beaker
Cheers, thanks for the response. do the restart and still no luck. Started reading through the thread that MrBill noted above. It was noted that pg3 and PG3X needed to be re-upgraded. Currently my Polisy only has pg3 install. Is PG3X only for eisy or do I need to reinstall PG3X? Cheers, Ken. Link to comment
