SSS Posted February 20, 2023 Posted February 20, 2023 Has anyone tried Roomie Remote ver 8+ with the new eisy + Insteon serial PLM…currency l have ISY994 + serial PLM and all devices show up in Roomie Remote manifest once you add the ISY as device. My goal is to migrate to eisy as the next gen product…assuming isy will eventually be phased out and all devices have a life 5-10 years max…using the isy for 8+ years

With the eisy being so new, Roomie may not even be aware of it. I'd reach out to them just in case so they can work with udi to get it supported Edited February 20, 2023 by lilyoyo1
SSS Posted February 20, 2023 Author Posted February 20, 2023 In my forum chat with Roomie Remote they have shown interest to check it out if UD can send a demo unit with our with out the Insteon serial PLM… see link https://forum.roomieremote.com/t/universal-devices-new-eisy/5461?u=sphome

SSS Posted February 24, 2023 Author Posted February 24, 2023 Any update @ Roomie Remote testing. Also my current ISY is 5.0.10 will this be ok to migrate to eisy?

You should contact UDI directly from their website https://www.universal-devices.com/contact-us/. We're just a bunch of users helping users support their systems. You appear to have misunderstood the previous reply (mostly based on your post on the other forum). 1 hour ago, SSS said: Also my current ISY is 5.0.10 will this be ok to migrate to eisy? Nope. You need to be on 5.3.4 (if you don't have Z-Wave or have Z-Wave 500 series board). There's no migration path from Z-Wave 300 Series board. And not sure if 5.0.16C will migrate. Why did you stop upgrading at 5.0.10? There's been a lot of releases since then. Seems pointless to stay on a really old build when lots of improvements were introduced in later builds.
SSS Posted February 24, 2023 Author Posted February 24, 2023 I found that any version above 5.0.10 Roomie Remote APP commands lags 5-10 seconds, l posted this issue 1 year back and there could be no resolution on this. Hence I am struck on 5.0.10.

Since, its Roomie's software, it would be on them to do the testing not UDI. UDI cannot fix their programming for them. You would need to contact Roomie. UDI provides the necessary resources for people to integrate their products should they chose to do so. If they choose not to, then it won't happen. 36 minutes ago, SSS said: I found that any version above 5.0.10 Roomie Remote APP commands lags 5-10 seconds, l posted this issue 1 year back and there could be no resolution on this. Hence I am struck on 5.0.10. If this is the case, I highly doubt a resolution has happened nor will one be forthcoming. From the looks of it, it seems like a situation where Roomie just isn't interested. Most likely, there simply isnt enough interest to warrant the investment in time and money like they said there would be for them to support it. Edited February 24, 2023 by lilyoyo1 1
SSS Posted February 24, 2023 Author Posted February 24, 2023 (edited) Yes I believe so…before l dive into migrating current isy with serial Insteon PLM to eisy+USB PLM l would keep both setup in parallel question really is should l upgrade my isy 5.0.10 to 5.3 just to backup and migrate then go back to 5.0.10 or just use the 5.0.10 backup to migrate to eisy ? another option is to start all over but I have or 75 devices with dozens of timers and programs also l am sure if RR will work with the eisy so have to keep both in parallel for some time Edited February 24, 2023 by SSS

Most (if not all) here werent in your position when they upgraded to speak on all the what ifs. You can downgrade if you need to but we can't say how any would effect your system.
SSS Posted February 25, 2023 Author Posted February 25, 2023 So the answer is firm no with 5.0.10 isy backup, eisy will not read it at all and say something like version not compatible error…or it will still read through and one has to check how well things get migrated
