lalang Posted March 28, 2023 Posted March 28, 2023 I've migrated to EISY from 994i and none of my Insteon device are working. They all show up in the portal as "RED". If you try to turn on a light etc. nothing happens. If I go back to the 994i it works fine. Did I miss a step in the migration process?

That will be hard for us to tell you without you listing the steps you used. Did you follow the directions here: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Eisy:User_Guide#Migration

Did you follow the directions here: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Eisy:User_Guide#Migration I think I understand what the problem was, but I haven’t been able to fix it. I had the PLM still plugged into the 994i and the EISY plugged in to network. I now have the Wi-Fi setup on the EISY and the PLM plugged into the EISY Ethernet port. I can get into the portal from a desktop and the UD Mobile App, but the results are the same.
Solution tlightne Posted March 28, 2023 Solution Posted March 28, 2023 (edited) The Eisy can not connect to the PLM with the ethernet port that is only for the network. Need a cable from UD to connect the PLM to EISY. https://www.universal-devices.com/product/serial-plm-kit/ Edited March 28, 2023 by tlightne 2

The PLM is not a network device. It might have the Network type cable connected to it, but it is a serial setup. (and @tlightne answered while I was typing) You need this kit from UDI: https://www.universal-devices.com/product/serial-plm-kit/ 2

In either case, you can not plug the PLM in to an ethernet port on eisy. If you need a conversion cable, UD has them in the store. Also, running eisy on wifi has been known to cause some difficulties with certain things. 1
lalang Posted March 28, 2023 Author Posted March 28, 2023 Got it. I just ordered a serial to USB cable. Thanks for your help. I have a serial PLM that I wasn’t using. 2
