lloverin Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Just noticed that the mem light blinked very fast and I couldn't get into the ISY-99. Pulled the plug to the ethernet and PLM and plugged them back in. Now, a single light (power) and when I call up the ISY, I get the web page but this is what I get when I try the admin console: Java Plug-in 1.6.0_18 Using JRE version 1.6.0_18-b07 Java HotSpot Client VM User home directory = C:\Users\Larry_Lovering ---------------------------------------------------- c: clear console window f: finalize objects on finalization queue g: garbage collect h: display this help message l: dump classloader list m: print memory usage o: trigger logging q: hide console r: reload policy configuration s: dump system and deployment properties t: dump thread list v: dump thread stack x: clear classloader cache 0-5: set trace level to ---------------------------------------------------- load: class com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class not found. java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2ClassLoader.loadCode(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed:http://192.168.1.135/com/universaldevices/client/ui/UDClientApplet/class.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.access$000(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) ... 7 more Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class load: class com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class not found. java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.findClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2ClassLoader.loadCode(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source) at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source) Caused by: java.io.IOException: open HTTP connection failed:http://192.168.1.135/com/universaldevices/client/ui/UDClientApplet/class.class at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.getBytes(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader.access$000(Unknown Source) at sun.plugin2.applet.Applet2ClassLoader$1.run(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.doPrivileged(Native Method) ... 7 more Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.universaldevices.client.ui.UDClientApplet.class On the web page, only one device is shown; where there is over 20. Michel Kohanim Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hi Larry, I am so very sorry to hear this. This seems to be a file system error. Please try removing the SD Card, inserting it back in, and try the restore again. For some reason, it seems as if the whole SD card has been wiped out. If that's the case, we can send you a replacement OR if you have an SD Card, you might want to have it replaced. Once replaced, first go to our website to login to your ISY, secondly upgrade the firmware, and finally restore your backup. With kind regards, Michel
lloverin Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 Hi Michel, I took it apart, unplugged the SD card and plugged it back in. When I tried to load the firmware, the message said that "Upgrade Failed: ISY Refused Program Update." This was the 2.77 release. Another error box said "socket open failed java.lang.nullpointerexception" Can I put an SD card in of my own and try the firmware upgrade?
Michel Kohanim Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hi Larry, Yes, absolutely. If your unit is still under warranty, please do send an email to sales@universal-devices.com (closed Tuesday/Wednesday this week) and we'll make sure you are covered. Please note: 1. Use a new SD Card. If you have an old SD Card, please format using FAT16 2. Once you get ISY up and running, then go to http://www.universal-devices.com/99i/[your_isy_firmware_version] 3. Login 4. Upgrade using the latest firmware 5. Once upgrade is complete, Restore your backup With kind regards, Michel
lloverin Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 I put a 2 gig Sd card in and got it working with 2.7.9 firmware and the second newest backup. However, the states of each scene are defaulted to the shortest on leveland longest ramp rate. And none of my program restored; or else there is a problem as an error box says "Request failed". Do I ask for an RMA yet? Thank you. Another update: a program executed on time. But I can't see the programs. Further update: the next morning, all programs appear.
Sub-Routine Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hi Larry, If the ramp rates and levels are incorrect and you can't view the programs this points to a PLM issue. If this happens again would you please check the LED on the PLM? And check Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Info/Status. Rand I put a 2 gig Sd card in and got it working with 2.7.9 firmware and the second newest backup. However, the states of each scene are defaulted to the shortest on leveland longest ramp rate. lloverin Posted March 30, 2010 Author Posted March 30, 2010 Hello Rand, Everything seems fine this morning; programs appear, PLM shows up normal and it's working. The ramp rates and dim levels look ok also, but I haven't checked them all. Maybe it tooks some time for the java programming to get all of the data there. So far, so good. -Larry
