Polyglot v2 and WeatherflowPGC

Hi all.  Its been a long time since I last posted.  Was a ISY 4.x user until weather module deprecated.  Went to 5.x upgrade and then Polyglot v2 on a Rasberry Pi.  Then put on WeatherflowPGC.  Worked well (except for having to manually restart the Polyglot Weatherflow node at least weekly.  But now, the Weatherflow node server no longer connects to a station - any station.  It just stopped working.  I didn't change a thing.

I looked around to see if I could see anything that indicates that version is no longer supported, but couldn't find anything.  Another v2 node server (AVR Remote) is working fine.  I'm happy to update to v3 if that what it takes, but I can't find clear instructions on upgrading or installing v3 on a Rasberry pi.  Current version is:

Version 2.2.11 Status: Connected
Frontend Version: 2.2.9-5
ISY Version: 5.0.16C
Uptime: 1 Day(s) 19 Hour(s) 6 Minute(s) 14 Second(s)
(c) 2023 UDI

Any help or advice appreciated.

It's not real clear what you're actually running.

PG2, which runs on a RPi and on a UDI Polisy is no longer supported.  However, it should continue to run.  Most of the PG2 node server are also no longer supported.  There is a WeatherFlow node server for PG2, but it may or may not work. Again, if the node servers continue to work, you're fine for now.

PGC was discontinued and is no longer active, this includes all the node servers for it of which WeatherFlowPGC is one.

PG3 and PG3x are the latest versions of Polyglot.  These will only run on a Polisy or eisy controller from UDI.  So you can't install it on a Raspberry Pi. PG2 node servers are not compatible with PG3(x) and many are no longer free.

The transition from PG2 to PG3(x) has been happening over the past 2+ years.

Thank you.  In my search for a solution, I was coming to that conclusion.  Thank you for confirming.  It also appears that the Eisy and Polisy devices will also replace my existing ISY994.  If that's the case, I would only need one device to run both my ISY automation devices (Insteon, Network Resources, Email notifications) and my Polyglot node servers.

Is that true?  If so, I will do more research on those and find a place to purchase the device that does not require me to use cloud services (except for the weather feeds).  Thanks again for the confirmation.

Correct. The Polisy replaced the ISY994 a few years ago and added the ability to run node servers and ISY as a service all on one device. In Dec 2022 UDI released the eisy (yes, all lowercase) to replace the Polisy (and the ISY994) as the hardware for the Polisy was no longer available.

The Polisy and eisy are able to run ISY as a service as well as Polycglot V3/V3x to run node servers for many different services. Currently there are over 100 node servers in the node server store (https://polyglot.universal-devices.com/). You'll see that there are many options to incorporate other systems into the world of ISY (now simply referred to as IoX - you'll see why in the wiki)

UDI sells all their equipment on their site: https://www.universal-devices.com/

You can find users selling their old Polisy in the Coffee Shop area of these forums if you're inclined to get that hardware. UDI has stated that both the Polisy and eisy will be supported for the time being. No certain "EOL" information has been given for the Polisy.

UDI does not "require" a cloud service, but it sure does help. The UDI Portal offers so much additional options for remote access, network resources, and smart assistant connectivity (Amazon and Google). You will need a UDI Portal account to buy node servers. Accounts are free, it's the portal access/service that costs (very minimal amount for the advanced services provided).

The best places to do research is reading the UDI Wiki (https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Main_Page) and reading posts on the forums.
