jcip Posted April 1, 2010 Posted April 1, 2010 I have 4 thermostats... on one of them the fan control constantly reads "ON" whether the fan is ON or OFF. I have delinked and relinked the device which solves the issue for about a week and then it happens again. Has anyone else experienced this issue?
jcip Posted August 9, 2010 Author Posted August 9, 2010 I have not. I do periodically reboot the system and it seems to resolve for some period of time.
Michel Kohanim Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Hello jcip, Is this a V2 thermostat? With kind regards, Michel
jcip Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 My thermostats are 2441V thermo adapter v.91... are they v2?
Michel Kohanim Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Hello jcip, Yes, they are. I assume you have four nodes for each. The next question is whether or not you are on 2.7.15 firmware. If not, please do so. If yes, then I recommend doing a factory reset on the thermostat, remove it from ISY, and then add it back in. If that still doesn't work, then I would have to think a problem with the thermostat. With kind regards, Michel
jcip Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 i do have four nodes and i am on firmware 2.7.15. i will follow the procedure next time i experience the problem. at the moment, the fan and heat nodes are not reading a state at all (neither on or off)... does that sound correct? but the thermostats all seem to be functioning properly... they are all set to cool and the cool control is "on" or "off" as appropriate.
Michel Kohanim Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Hello jcip, Heat/Cool are called if and only if the thermostat is calling for them. So, this is only OK if your thermostat is not doing anything. With kind regards, Michel
jcip Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 That makes sense... what about the Fan node?
Sub-Routine Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 Fan mode also will not update unless you switch between On/Auto.
jcip Posted August 11, 2010 Author Posted August 11, 2010 I don't quite understand. I do have the fan set to Auto but I do not get an update for whether it is on or off. Is that correct?
Sub-Routine Posted August 11, 2010 Posted August 11, 2010 That is correct. In Auto the fan runs as required by the HVAC. The thermostat does not send separate fan states because the thermostat does not control the fan. If On the fan would always run and the status should reflect On.
