Av8rdave Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 I suspect I am missing something obvious but can't figure it out so I'm going to ask. I have an ISY 99i Pro with firmware version 2.7.9. There are a couple of devices in my network that want to remove. I think when this came up once before with an older version, I was able to highlight the device in the file tree, right click on it and "Remove" was an option. I also get this impression from poking around on the Wiki. But, if I do that with the file structure I have now (highlight the device and right click) I get the following options. Query Rename Disable Remove from Folder Add to Scene Move to Folder Write Updates to Device Restore Device Notes None of them are simply "Remove" or "Delete". If I pick "Remove from Folder" it moves the device to the root folder and disables it, but it doesn't seem to remove it from the tree, including if I high light it and right click. That gives me the options: Rename Enable Move to Folder Notes That's not the end of the world or anything but the reason I want to do this for one device is that its an InlineLinc 2475D and when I installed it, I didn't realize there were two options for the same product and I picked the older option, which doesn't seem to work with the device I have. Some functions work but some don't. In contrast, the newer option does work with an InlineLinc I bought at the same time and installed after I realized there were two different ISY options for the device. So, I think I need to re-install the first 2475D and pick the newer ISY option for the device or have it Auto Discover the device. But I figured I would need to remove the existing object first. But I can't figure out how to get it to go away so I can do that, which leads me to this post. Thanks for the help, David Sellers
Michel Kohanim Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 Hi David, If your devices are within folders, you have to first Remove From Folder and then you can remove them once in the root tree. With kind regards, Michel
Sub-Routine Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 You may also have to click Enable device before the Remove option is available. Rand
Av8rdave Posted April 2, 2010 Author Posted April 2, 2010 Thanks Michel and Rand, Enabling them was the trick. I had moved them to the root folder and when I did that they were disabled automatically. I never thought to try enabling them again, but when I did, the full menu of options became available when i right clicked, including "Remove". Thanks for the quick reply, David
