TheA2Z Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Currently using Ethernet. I want to switch to wifi. How do I do that after everything is setup?
Geddy Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Wi-fi should automatically be off if the wired connection is made. I don't think there are any setting adjustments needed.
TheA2Z Posted June 14, 2023 Author Posted June 14, 2023 @Geddy Thanks for quick response. Let me clarify. I am using ethernet now. I never setup wifi when I installed Eisy. I want to switch to using Wifi and not ethernet. How can I do that?

Are you moving it to somewhere that you cannot connect with a wire? I think it works fine both ways, but just seems more reliable to be wired connection. (IMO) I think you will need to use UD Mobile to set up the wifi, but I’ve never gone from wired to wireless setting so don't know all the steps. Try with UD mobile and review the wiki user guide https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=Eisy:User_Guide#Go_to_WIFI_Setup_or_Leave_WIFI_Setup_mode
TheA2Z Posted June 14, 2023 Author Posted June 14, 2023 @Geddy Have been running ISY now Eisy via ethernet with powerline adapters. Recently been getting loss of connection to ISY and PG3. Not sure if it is powerline or something else. Wanted to try WIFI before running hardware from server closet. Ill check out that process you sent. btw I see we are both in the Atlanta area. Up in East Cobb. How bout you?
TheA2Z Posted June 14, 2023 Author Posted June 14, 2023 Tried disconnecting the ethernet, then using UD mobile to connect to wifi. Scanned code on bottom of EISY. Selected my wifi, but I could not get it to connect to the eisy wifi connection. UD mobile would just spin. I have android Samsung S22. it said it would ask for permission to connect to wifi but never came up.
Techman Posted June 15, 2023 Posted June 15, 2023 @TheA2Z Take a look at the attached screenshot. You should first try resetting the eisy network by clicking the front button 4 times 1

Some Android devices or versions do not timeout when OS does not find WiFi Access Point, added to issues. Some common causes are listed in troubleshooting https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=UD_Mobile#Troubleshooting 1
