Venstar ir control

Featured Replies

I set up my Venstar tonight and immediately wanted to control temps with my remote control. I have successfully set up lighting scenes using my remote so I figured it should be a snap to also use my remote to change the settings on my Venstar, or so I hoped.

I wrote the following:

If

IR 'IR_008' is Pressed

Then

Set 'Indoor / Thermostats / Theater / 14.06.E0 - Main' Mode Cool

Set 'Indoor / Thermostats / Theater / 14.06.E0 - Main' 78° (Cool Setpoint)

Else

- No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

The only problem, it doesn't work! I know my ir codes work because I am using many scenes including:

If

IR 'IR_003' is Pressed

Then

Set Scene 'Theater / Theater Scenes / Movie Mode' On

Set 'Theater / Theater Hall' Off

Else

- No Actions - (To add one, press 'Action')

which runs fine.

Also I tested the program in the Summary tab using the Run Then and the thermostat responded.

Is there a difference using ir initiated commands for the Venstar?

Hi,

Would you please go to the IR tab, press the IR_003 button and ensure that ISY is hearing it (it gets highlighted).

With kind regards,

Michel

Thank you for that awesome diagnostic tip! I didn't realize I could check my ir codes.

Turns out it was my remote programming. It all works now!

My theater is really turning into an integrated tour de force! When I press the On button of my remote, the lighting scene On runs (so the lighting comes on), the entire system turns on (the pj, sound system and then tunes to music videos), and my a/c turns on!! When I press off, everything turns off including the a/c!! Just awesome!!!

Thanks again!
