nowandthen Posted September 3, 2023 Posted September 3, 2023 The IoX finder would only find my isy994i. Now that I have moved on to the eisy, the finder finds 2 items. When loaded, it reports as "not found". This is the first listing "https://eisy.local:8443/desc". I have to hit "OK" to the popup before I select the second listing which brings up the console. I can't delete the first listing. How do I correct or delete this behavior?
Solution Techman Posted September 3, 2023 Solution Posted September 3, 2023 Try clearing your java cache, including checking the box "installed applications, then download the IoX Launcher https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp
kalman8 Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Started having the same issue a few days ago, clearing Java and running start.jnlp does not work
Techman Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 Is the address in the IoX Launcher the same address for the Polisy that's reserved in your router? You can also try deleting the address in the launcher, then recreating it.
DennisC Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 @kalman8, when you go to clear your Java cache, are you checking all 3 boxes? You need to download a new copy of start.jnlp, not run a previously downloaded copy. Are downloading a new start.jnlp? 1
Geddy Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 @nowandthen see @Techman and @DennisC posts above. This should fix the “not found” issue. This was reported fixed in another post. The “https://eisy.local:8443/desc” is auto found and cannot be removed. It’s normal for how IoX launcher finds the eisy as long as your router supports local addressing this way.

DennisC Posted September 10, 2023 Posted September 10, 2023 3 minutes ago, gzahar said: Why? The fix is in the start.jnlp file. It needs version numbers that are stored there and allows IoX Launcher to match the version of firmware.

The jnlp file is akin to an executable file and it not modified when run. It does store information that should be deleted by the clearing cache/deleting files exercise; but the start.jnlp file itself appears to be the same as it was when last downloaded. Edit: If you're saying UDI made a recent change to the start.jnlp file then I follow you. Edited September 10, 2023 by gzahar

kalman8 Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 the updated .jnlp installer stops the error about device not found but it does not stop the 2nd entry from appearing. This has nothing to do with my router configuration. FYI u are not able to delete anything from the IOX finder

It wasn't supposed to stop that from happening, since it is a normal condition. There were issues with the discovery process and UD made improvements in how IoX Launcher discovers eisy/Polisy. If it finds the device by local host and IP address, they will both be listed and both will work. Since this is normal, it shouldn't be of concern. 1
kalman8 Posted September 12, 2023 Posted September 12, 2023 k just strange since this just started a few days ago. been using UD with insteon for over 10 years.
