TWO (2) ISY-99 Stopped communicating with PLM's aftr Upgrade

I have had (2) different ISY stop communicating with (2) different PLM after upgrading from 2.6.x to 2.7 latest version.

The first issue was when I went to my inlaws house last week to work on their system -- I thought the ISY or PLM were dead as no matter what I did (reset PLM, reset devices, etc) I could get no communication between ISY/PLM/Devices, its like the devices did not exist.

I have a system at home (similar setup) and brought the potentially broken devices home to play around with.

I started playing with my own ones first, backing up the system, etc. and then I upgraded to the latest firmware on MY isy and PLM.... now I have the same issue on my home system(!)

I can login, see all my devices, etc. but there is no "status" on any device. Prior to upgrading I was able to say "ALL ON" and everything would turn on -- now I can't even turn one switch on/off and no query. When I try to query all devices, they all just give errors as no communication.

Nothing else in the system has been changed.

Any thoughts?

I am not sure of the version from/to but it was definitely 2.6.x to the latest version. On the home system I did the auto upgrade that was available in the admin tool.

Everything seems running fine and I even tried "replace PLM" and "replace devices" and let it do it's thing -- it seems to try and do it all but still wont work -- tried rebooting the device by cable twice too.

HELP :(

Hello Pioneer,

I am so very sorry to hear this and I do apologize for the inconvenience. Please do contact our tech support team so that we can login to your computer/system and see what's going on.

In the meantime, can you please go to Tools | Diagnostics | PLM Status/Info and let me know what you see?

And are these 99s or 26s?

With kind regards,

Michel

I am having the same issue. I upgraded my ISY-26 and now none of my events work. It is like the PLM is not linked to anything.

I tried restoring the PLM. It starts the restore, runs for a while, and then starts failing after that most of my devices have red ! next to them. Some have the green 1011 next to them.

I have a new ISY99 that I just got so I reset my PLM, loaded my last good backup from the ISY26 and it is still acting the same way.

I can control many devices even if they have a red ! next to the name. It is acting like the PLM can send commands but cannot hear from all of the devices.

I just asked for the PLM Info/Ststus but it started writing links again. I see the green Writing next to the decives as they are written to. It is taking a long time to move from one device to the next and the event log shows it is working.

Everything was working fine before the upgrade.

I happened to have another PLM on hand. I plugged it in and did a Restore Modem and now all the errors are gone.

The new PLM is v7A.

Thanks guys for your suggestions.

Well, almost everything is back to normal.

My IRLinc RX is not working. None of my IR commands are having any effect. Is there somthing special to do to relinc the IRLinc? I tried writing updates. That completes fine but had no effect.

Using the theater without being able to control the light is no fun at all. :?

Hello Mr. Bruns,

If you have recently purchased your IRLinc TX, please contact SH and request that they send you one with the older firmware. Their newest firmware breaks i2 read commands.

With kind regards,

Michel

Thanks for the tip.

I have an IRLinc TX sitting on the shelf. It is not very new. I have not had the chance to set it up yet.

My problems are with the IRLinc Receiver. It acts like it is not seeing the commands from my remote. I haven't looked into it enough to know anything more than that.

I'll start a new thread if I need assisitance with it in the near future. I've hijacked this thread enough.

Thanks for your help.
