Blackbird Posted August 19 Posted August 19 (edited) Just wondering if there is a node server that adds local weather info to the ISY? I dont mean that the node server itself is free but a free weather service. Thanks Edited August 19 by Blackbird Quote
Geddy Posted August 19 Posted August 19 @Blackbird I use the OpenWeatherMap plugin. You just need to sign up for the API - there's a free option, but be sure you read about the amount of calls you get for free and set your short/long polls accordingly. https://github.com/BME-nodeservers/docs/blob/master/udi-owm-poly.md I believe @bpwwer recently updated this one and it works with the current API supported by OpenWeatherMap. Be sure to read the instructions about how to get an API key and how to setup the plugin. Some on the forums were having issues, but it's just the API does take a little while to "activate". It seems to work fine. I don't use any of the data currently in programs, but when I did there weren't any issues that I knew of for my simple, and limited, use. Quote
JTsao Posted August 19 Posted August 19 Weatherbit is free - with the free account you can get updates maybe like 1X per hour - the nodeserver, however, defaults to polling more often than that, which causes a problem... Quote
