Docs for NodeLink / help

For past decade, I have had DSCLink running without issues on an old HP laptop. With MS shutting down support for Windows 10 next year, thought maybe it was time to look for other options. If I understand correctly, NodeLink is a replacement and can be mounted as a Docker.

The author's link to the software opens to "adamsfleamarket.com" which appears to be an Indonesian site.  More digging, found Docker here https://registry.hub.docker.com/r/jcreynolds/nodelink.  I loaded into my NAS, but logs spit out a bunch for questionable connections (see attached logs) new 14.txt

Where can I find NodeLink help doc's or what would be a good replace for DSCLink on my ISY ?

BTW, only just starting to play with Docker, so don't really know to much about Docker deployments

I moved from it to eISY and PG3x. There is EnvisaLink -DSC node server that replaces nodelink.

I looked through the eISY section and I don't see anything for NodeLink Software specific

With respect to EnvisaLink, >>  DSCLink uses the EnvisaLink, but Nodelink replaced DSCLink (As I understand it)

So what exactly am I looking for here ?

EnvisaLink-DSC is a node server that runs on PG3x. It does all same things that original DSCLink did and then NodeLink when it combined several xxLink programs into one program.


NodeLink if it can be found will run on Windows. The author io_guy was great but has moved on to other HA endeavors and his automation shack site was shut down.

Are you running in ISY994 and if so do you plan to move to eISY?

And here in the problem lies, I have 3 x ISY994 installs and 2 have DSCLink running. I actually had to lookup what Polyglot was. Based on what I briefly read, knowledge of programming would be required ... I'm not a programmer.

And to add, I'm in Canada, with the USD to CDN dollar difference, to upgrade each location would be $700 CDN each ... very difficult to justify.  Guess I'll keep searching for a new solution

I’ve got a copy of nodelink.dll that you can run on a Windows PC. Docker not required. Let me know if you want it.

Lazy morning so I came back on the forum for a peek.  

What operating system are you looking to use?

Most people were running the Link programs on a cheap raspberry pi.  

I still have all the docs and software, just shut down the website.  Let me know what you're looking to do and I should be able to help.

Oh man . ..   I just spent a good bit of effort converting over to PG3 DSC and CAI webcontrol.  I thought you had "retired" from this arena.  The pg3x node for webcontrol worked out of the box, but I had to work with the DSC node author to get it to do what your node was doing.  I had been running on a pc and I had an issue with the pc and needed to redo it.  But I couldn't get nodelink to work after doing the pc redo.

I would still love to have the nodelink files for pc if you could post them on a g-drive or something.

Pretty much retired.   I'm a Z-Wave / HASS guy now so I haven't had to write any new software.  

I honestly didn't think anyone was even looking at NodeLink anymore.  BSD 13/14 have .NET ported on them so NodeLink could run on em, but that ship has sailed now.  

In any case, in the next week or so I can post an updated version of NodeLink and remove the broken update check and website links.

While EnvisaLink-DSC is a available on Poly, my internet can be questionable at times, so me (in the minority of users), I'd rather run on something local.  With over 130 network devices of various function(s), I actual run a network monitor [PRTG] to advise on any failures. DSC Link ran on the same PC, so having a deadicated PC already in place, may as well use it. 

If an EISY compatibale version of NodeLink were to be made available, it would be greatly appreciated

For my small installation [3 zones], I found a cheat using Shelly Zwave i4 modules wiring them in parallel to DSC sensors such as door contacts or motion detectors. So far, integration has been very stable and no false triggers to date in almost 2 months running

You can run polyglot locally.

In fact that’s now the only supported installation. PG3x and plugins, such as EnvisaLink-DSC, only run right there on the eISY. And in the case of the EnvisaLink-DSC plugin, it’s communication to the EnvisaLink in the DSC panel is all local too.
