Simple App For Family Members

Is there a simplified App which I can set up for kids/wife that only has buttons labeled as triggers, so they can turn on lights/scenes without any other options.  Ideally I would like to set up screens for this App with buttons that say "Walkway" and "Back Yard" etc. and when they click that have the EISY send commands.  But no other options in the App.  Does such a thing exist?

If not, where / how do I set up the next closest thing using the UD App?  I want a button which sends an X10 command.  And/Or I want a button which runs a program.  Also, in the UD App is there a way to lock the app to only show the screen with the buttons?

You would probably do best with a physical controller device (eg. a palmpad if you're using X10) that then triggers scenes. If you really want a phone app, then you'd need to find an app that allows you to configure buttons that could send http GET commands, and use REST interface commands to trigger scenes in your eisy.

Alexa voice control is also a user friendly way of triggering commands.

@scholarwarrior If you can write html, please see my post in the topic below.   I use rest commands to change state variables - then have a program execute when the variable changes.

it only works on the local network (the buttons won't work when I'm away from home, for example); although, I believe you can change the rest command to get it to do so - I haven't tried it yet.

If you have the portal, you can log in, click tools > information > ISY Information. There's a a specific url to your ISY listed there.

Going back to the original question, you can set up Favorites in UDM and then LOCK edits. The favorites page you set up can be labeled however you want, with icons, colors and commands, so that a simple press, toggles a switch, program etc.

Extremely powerful once you figure it out. This is what I do for my wife. Works well.

I would suggest using Home Assistant if something like this is what you need:

+1 on this. I have custom single user dashboards for my kids on their mobile devices using the home assistant companion app. I can expose what I deem appropriate, and make design changes remotely at my discretion.

roblombardo   what are you using to control your garage door?  I'm using an Insteon I/O Linc 2450 that I've had for several years.

I am using the same as the control mechanism. I use a custom mushroom template card in home assistant as the control interface.
