flsenior Posted Friday at 08:41 PM Posted Friday at 08:41 PM I have a new Eisy on version 5.8.4 When I use the IoX launcher, the IoX finder will responder "not found" then will display the Eisy. I can then select the Lan launch. The response to the sign in is slow. Sometimes the sign in window will lock up. I am on Windows 10. I have cleared the Java cache (3 selections), deleted the IoX launcher and obtained a new launcher from UDI. Any suggestions? Quote
Techman Posted Friday at 10:16 PM Posted Friday at 10:16 PM When you clear your java cache the IoX Launcher will be deleted. If that's not the case then your cache didn't clear How much RAM memory do you have on your computer? Did you download the IoX Launcher from here? https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp You can also try rebooting the EISY Quote
flsenior Posted Saturday at 01:29 PM Author Posted Saturday at 01:29 PM (edited) I have 12 GB of RAM I got the launched from the UDI web page. I clicked on the "My ISY" icon. I have taken your link and added it to my desktop. Thx Edited Saturday at 01:35 PM by flsenior Quote
Solution paulbates Posted Saturday at 01:59 PM Solution Posted Saturday at 01:59 PM If that didn't fix it, sometimes java needs more memory to run the admin console / iox: - Close the admin console / iox - Open the Java Control Panel, select Java tab, press View button, then add or modify the Runtime Parameter -Xmx to the following: -Xmx512m - Press Ok to close the window, then Press Apply to save the changes 1 Quote
Techman Posted Saturday at 03:46 PM Posted Saturday at 03:46 PM @flsenior The icon that UD installs on your desktop is the IoX Launcher (see screenshot). You should only have the one icon to launch the admin console. Clear your java cache again and then download the launcher from the link I previously provided. The "My ISY" i9s not the correct link. If it's still there after you clear your java cache you should delete it. Quote

When you log in next look at the Programs tab and "Summary". Do you have any programs stuck in a loop? Aside from what @paulbates suggested for allocated memory (referenced in the wiki) given that your system has 12GB ram it should be zippy. I might up the number that @paulbates suggests to "1024m". Some have found setting the min and the max (to the same number) also might help. I haven't adjusted this in a long time so think Java might be playing better with IoX Launcher/Finder, but if you have a large system it could be bogging down based on the memory being provided to Java. -Xms = selects the initial memory allocated -Xmx = selects the maximum that can be allocated. flsenior Posted yesterday at 01:43 PM Author Posted yesterday at 01:43 PM Thanks to paulbates and Geddy. Changing the memory has resolved the issue. The help is really appreciated. 2 Quote
