flsenior Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I have this program and it does not run. It is enabled. When I turned "on" any one of the lights, the other lights do not respond. The program summary page indicates that the program has not run. I also have a companion program for turning "off" the lights and it also will not run. Suggestions appreciated. Eisy, Insteon. Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted February 4 Posted February 4 First step: if you go look at one of these lights in the admin console (in the device list) and turn them on or off at the switch, do you see the status change on the screen? Quote
paulbates Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) A suggestion is to put all 3 switches in a scene as controllers. The switches will handle the required action for you and there will be not delay, and no program will be needed. Edited February 4 by paulbates 1 Quote
apostolakisl Posted February 4 Posted February 4 What paul said. The only caveat, if shut one of them off it will also turn all of them off. So if you only want them to all turn on when you turn one of them on, but not all turn off when you turn one of them off, you won't be able to use a scene. Regardless, the program should work. Unless you are not doing a switched on but rather a press and hold for dim up or a double click for fast on. My mother in law kept saying my stuff wasn't working because she kept pressing and holding instead of just clicking. Follow the admin console to see if the program is running (use the summary page to see last run time and true/false) and watch the devices themselves in the device tree to see that they are tracking when you turn them on/off. 1 Quote
Geddy Posted February 4 Posted February 4 @flsenior The preferred method for posting programs to the forums is to right click on the program. Select the bottom option of "Copy to Clipboard" (be sure you use COPY). Then paste the program to your post. This makes the program editable by any that are trying to help you rather than having to re-type something or refer to something in an image. Additionally, does this relate to the post you made yesterday? Quote
flsenior Posted February 4 Author Posted February 4 I will respond to the above with the oldest message first. Guy - the admin console accurately reflects the status of the devices. I performed an on/off at the switch and the console indicated the correct status. Paul - I disabled the program, save the change, then wrote a scene with the 3 devices as a controller. When I selected the ceiling light "on" from the console, no other light turned on. Apostolakisl - the program does not indicate any run time. Geddy - thanks for the instruction on how to properly post a program. I appreciate the advice and will remember it. The current situation has everything to do with my post yesterday. Something happened with my Eisy. The above program was working yesterday in 3 bathrooms. I have the same program for all 3 rooms. During the day all of these programs lost their function in the same exact manner. In addition, the on level on the dimmer switches (ceiling and mirror) all defaulted to 100%. Beyond the above program I have a program for outside lights and it lost part of its function. I attempted to recover the issue by manually doing a restore on each device, resetting the on levels, etc. I could not resolve the program issues so I then tried to restore the IoX. I kept making the same mistake of not selecting the most recent IoX backup until you trigger some sense into me. I then properly selected the latest IoX backup, which is what I am working from. At the time I made the backup all of my devices and programs were operating as designed. ALL - So the current status is - - the "bathroom" light program is not functional. - the scene created with all 3 switches as controllers was created and tested for 1 bathroom. The scene operates (faulty) similar to the program. - other programs such as an outdoor light program lost some function yesterday when the light program became faulty. - I have tried to restore devices and still can't operate the program - The IoX was restored with a known good program. All help is greatly appreciated. Your comments for improvements are also appreciated. Quote

Ok, second step: if you right click on the program (in the program list) and do "Run Then", do the lights come on? 1 Quote
flsenior Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 Guy - I deleted the scene, enabled the program and performed "Run Then" as suggested. The lights came on per the program instructions. Next step? Thanks Just another comment regarding the change in my Eisy yesterday. I had linked Google and Alexa to switches in three different rooms. Both Google and Alexa lost their links to the Eisy. Quote
Solution paulbates Posted February 5 Solution Posted February 5 Once you create a scene in the ISY, you turn the scene on and off, not the device. This includes iox programs. But if you turn any one of the devices on at the switch, they'll all go on and off 1 Quote
flsenior Posted February 5 Author Posted February 5 Paul - thank you. As you state, I turned the scene on/off and the lights perform as programmed. I did the same for the other bathrooms and all is ok. I have deleted the programs and now operate only with a scene. Thanks to you and everyone who contributed. 2 Quote
