STIM141 Posted 23 hours ago Posted 23 hours ago Received a pre-owned Polisy Pro but cannot access it in IOX Start. Boots fine (beeps - three lights, then two then one solid green) and it is showing up on my Netgear Router. Tried doing a hard reset with the front button but it doesn't seem to work. Press the button at the front and hold the button but it does not produce three lights as indicated in the instructions. IOX finds my ISY994i no problem Any idea to get access or is something wrong with the box? Rear ethernet port shows activity. Quote

You need to clear your java cache, be sure to check all 3 boxes, then download the current version of the IoX Launcher from here: https://isy.universal-devices.com/start.jnlp Quote
Geddy Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago @STIM141 please review the wiki: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/Polisy:User_Guide#Can't_Find_Polisy Try adding manually. Be sure to use the port number shown in the wiki. You might need add .local after polisy as shown in the wiki. If you cannot get it to add with polisy.local then try the IP address you see assigned to it in your router. What kind of router are you using? Quote
STIM141 Posted 9 hours ago Author Posted 9 hours ago Well... I got somewhere. Entered the IP address and got to the Polyglot 2 login screen but cannot login with ADMIN/ADMIN - previous owner must have changed password. Tried the reset button as indicated in the manual but it will not reset. Press and hold the button. You get the first light (SOLID) Second light then third (that blinks twice). Held it for almost a minute - no change. Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted 9 hours ago Posted 9 hours ago Try logging in by ssh (the password "admin" might work for that. On your PC: ssh admin@<ipaddress>.local and enter "admin" as the password. If that works, then: sudo rm /var/isy/FILES/CONF/0.UCF sudo service isy restart That normally resets the admin console login to the default admin:admin Quote
STIM141 Posted 8 hours ago Author Posted 8 hours ago Yes tried last night admin/admin won't work. Spoke to 1st owner forgot password. Tried doing complete reset with front button. Cannot get all three LEDs to blink. Can get 1 2 solid and 3rd tool either blink 2x or 3x. Beeps when pressing or releasing. I submitted a ticket Fri night. Don't think button is bad but something doesn't seem right. Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago But did you try accessing it by ssh, from a Dos command prompt? Quote
STIM141 Posted 7 hours ago Author Posted 7 hours ago Yes, using IP address from router I tried entering admin as password and it won't login. Tried a password supplied by the orig owner - didn't work. Unit has booted and its communicating but password is a problem. Tried doing FULL reset with the front button but the instructions of holding the button until three lights blink didn't work. Button works because once the thing eventually boots up with a single led I pressed the front button - it displays 2nd LED lit and the third beeps twice or three times then only 1st stays lit. Pressed and held for a LONG time no three lights on and blinking. Tried a few times. Quote
STIM141 Posted 6 hours ago Author Posted 6 hours ago Last owner's password now works. Can access via browser. Have to go through configuration to get it to work with IOX start etc. Seems to be running old version of firmware/software. At least it boots and I can access the system now. The reset button procedure still does not work - don't know if it is the physical button or the firmware. Going to be a project. Quote
Guy Lavoie Posted 6 hours ago Posted 6 hours ago Update the firmware first. Some Polisys run into an issue with the update to 5.9.1, but is easily recoverable. Best get that done before setting up anything else. I also have a Polisy that I got as a used unit, that I used for testing and as a potential backup unit. Quote
