birdman Posted yesterday at 04:18 AM Posted yesterday at 04:18 AM I just started having trouble accessing my ISY through MobiLinc so I went downstairs to check the ISY and noticed the blue memory light is flashing (maybe once every 4 or 5 seconds). I can access the Admin Console through my desktop and control the lights and all my programs are running fine but I can’t connect with MobiLinc and the flashing light suggests something is not working. Any thoughts? Thx in advance Quote
paulbates Posted yesterday at 10:02 AM Posted yesterday at 10:02 AM (edited) Flashing blue is a SD memory card issue. Try reseating the SD card issue. It can be cleaned with a pencil eraser before reseating If its an older ISY 994i, chances are the card needs to be replaced Edited yesterday at 10:07 AM by paulbates 1 Quote
birdman Posted yesterday at 01:08 PM Author Posted yesterday at 01:08 PM (edited) Thx. I have a 994i and there is no SD card in the slot. Never had one. Just now this morning both the Blue memory and Red error light started flashing together - continuous flash off and on. I unplugged and plugged it back in but still flashing. paulbates Posted yesterday at 01:17 PM Posted yesterday at 01:17 PM There is an SD Card. The SD card is essentially the hard drive of the ISY. The operating system and all of your automation are stored there. Though this article is for the ISY26, it is still relevant https://wiki.universal-devices.com/index.php?title=ISY-99i/ISY-26_INSTEON:Replacing/Formatting_an_SD_Card 2 Quote
Solution birdman Posted yesterday at 01:21 PM Author Solution Posted yesterday at 01:21 PM Figured it out. I see that when both lights are flashing that seems to suggest it could be a network issue. I changed the Ethernet plug connecting the ISY to my switch and that seems to have solved it. I didn’t think Ethernet cables go bad but this one seems to have a damaged clip on the end so wasn’t seating properly. I think this fixed it. Thx. 1 Quote
Brian H Posted yesterday at 01:21 PM Posted yesterday at 01:21 PM With out an SD card it should be impossible to even use it as it is where all the module information and programming is stored. I believe the early versions of the ISY994i had it internally and you have to remove the top. 1 Quote
birdman Posted yesterday at 01:36 PM Author Posted yesterday at 01:36 PM Very interesting. I have had this ISY 994i for a long time and while there is a micro SD slot in the front I have never put one (and it sure doesn’t look like it has one inserted into the slot). Quote
Brian H Posted yesterday at 06:08 PM Posted yesterday at 06:08 PM I had to take the top off mine to get to the SD card. Mine didn't align up well with the slot and when I clicked it to remove it fell into the unit. 😀 Quote
