JTsao Posted Saturday at 04:19 PM Posted Saturday at 04:19 PM (edited) Yesterday, my wife was flipping circuit breakers and accidently turned off the eisy. Now, when I log into PG3x, after a few seconds, I see an orange message "Auto-logout due to slow response time from PG3x" and I get logged out - what is the procedure to fix this? (everything seems OK from the ISY admin console - node servers appear to be working...) Edited Saturday at 04:19 PM by JTsao Quote
Geddy Posted Saturday at 09:46 PM Posted Saturday at 09:46 PM @JTsao have you tried to reboot the eisy? Perhaps something didn't load up correctly after the power loss and it just needs a fresh reboot. Press and hold the power supply for a few seconds. If you can hold it in a way you see the light on the button wait for the light to turn red. Optional step would be to then pull the power supply/cord. Allow a few seconds then plug it back in and press the power button (light should turn blue). Allow 2-3 minutes for the device to fully boot then try logging in. I've never noticed that message. If a power cycle doesn't help it then go to the log page and set it to "debug" and then log out of PG3 and close your browser. If you have another browser open that one and try logging in and see if you get the same error. If you do, download the system logs and open a support ticket with UD (https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets). Maybe they can see something in the logs that is causing an error. Do you make it a habit to "logout" of PG3 or just close the browser/tab? Quote
JTsao Posted Sunday at 07:31 PM Author Posted Sunday at 07:31 PM Thanks - I guess it was a fluke because it came up OK after resetting - I usually just close the browser after logging into PG3x - I may go back to using the mini-ups/dc battery that I had for the eisy, but a while back when I had a ticket open and was talking to UDI, it was suggested to me to stop using the UPS because most of the equipment (Insteon switches) is off-line during a power failure / brownout anyways... No point to it just routine for me. In the past if not logging out when you reconnect it didn't require the login process. Perhaps that was was causing you issue that it thought there was already an active session or something. Still a strange occurrence that I haven't seen mentioned here before. 16 minutes ago, JTsao said: it was suggested to me to stop using the UPS because most of the equipment (Insteon switches) is off-line during a power failure / brownout anyways... Interesting. I agree that most stuff is off when the power is out, but I've always kept the UD devices on UPS so not to have them reboot when the power "flickers". Of course the PLM is NOT on the UPS so it's off when the power goes out too. It's just a line of protection from surge and power drops to keep the equipment running. The UPS I use just powers my cable modem, router, network switch, eisy, and YoLink hub (so I can still monitor the temps in the fridge & freezer). Nothing major is draining the battery so it can withstand hours of "down" time. I usually power things down if it looks like it might be a lengthy time without power. Quote
