GDavis01 Posted Tuesday at 07:00 PM Posted Tuesday at 07:00 PM I have posted a few topics recently because my old ISY completely dies and I tried to replace it with an EISY that I had previously used at another home. I went through the process but I ran into far too many problems and I now think the best way forward is to do a clean install of the EISY. So, I am looking for some guidance on how I get the EISY / PLM back to factory state so I don't have any lingering issues. . Quote

I'm not sure exactly what the "factory reset" option of the multi-function button does, but that might be an option: https://wiki.universal-devices.com/Eisy:User_Guide#Factory_Reset I might suggest you open a support ticket with UD (https://www.universal-devices.com/my-tickets) to get the suggested route. More than likely you can delete all items from the IoX admin console, delete any programs, notifications, and network resources you might have. Then factory reset the PLM. The extreme step would also be to factory reset all Insteon devices to clear any links they might have written into memory. Although, the first question I would have is what kind of issues are you having that you think starting over would be the best course of action? It's probably drastic to start completely over, but if you don't have a lot of items it probably wouldn't be too horrible. Good luck! Quote
Solution Techman Posted Tuesday at 09:35 PM Solution Posted Tuesday at 09:35 PM @GDavis01 Factory reset PLM Remove PLM from power, hold down the set button and continue to hold down the set button after plugging in, the PLM will beep, hold the set button in until the beeping stops ------------------------- Factory Reset EISY Click the button ten (10) times Please wait 5-10 minutes after factory reset before attempting to reconnect to system. If System is not found by IoX Launcher after the wait period please reboot system by clicking the button five (5) times and waiting two minutes for system to come online. Note: after a factory reset the user name and password reverts to admin/admin After you reset the EISY log in from the admin console and run update packages, don't touch anything until the update completes and you see a notice to reboot. GDavis01 Posted Wednesday at 05:52 PM Author Posted Wednesday at 05:52 PM Thanks for the replies. I went ahead and reset the EISY to factory. The system appears to now be working well and I am in the process of reprogramming. Quote
