xlurkr Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Does anyone have more than one speakerhub in a single home? I'm thinking of using them as annunciators for various rooms and/or floors. From reading reviews on the Yolink site I'm convinced it's possible to set up more than one in the app, but I'm not sure how well that will work with this plugin. -Tom Quote
xlurkr Posted June 28 Author Posted June 28 @GeddyThanks for the link. I remembered reading a post about someone with multiple hubs, but my search turned up nothing. Unless I'm misreading the post you linked to, it doesn't say anything about how multiple hubs are handled in the plugin. I'd want to be able to send a TTS command to 2 or 3 of them with the same message at the same time. Not clear if I'd be able to do that. This is related to my doorbell thread in the IoX Support board. -Tom Quote
Panda88 Posted June 28 Posted June 28 I have not tried it, but I guess it should e possible as long as you can share the TTS definitions Quote

They are scattered throughout the house on different floors. They announce for things like packages at front door, back shed door open, gate open etc. I believe that I leave a few seconds delay between sending the same message to each speaker hub but not sure if this is necessary (just a precaution to prevent confusion - like 2 people speaking at the same time). I only wish the node server could allow for more than 9 possible messages. @Panda88any chance for this; does the local hub allow for more than 9? Gary Quote
Panda88 Posted Saturday at 05:42 PM Posted Saturday at 05:42 PM I think the number of messages is arbitrary - I can likely increase it but it has been a while since I looked at the code - I'll put it on my list when back from vacation Quote
xlurkr Posted Saturday at 07:22 PM Author Posted Saturday at 07:22 PM @GTenchThanks for the first-person account. I think I'll get another speakerhub based on your experience. The Yolink stuff works great, and the plugin has worked well for me too, @Panda88 ! -Tom Quote
Panda88 Posted Sunday at 09:46 AM Posted Sunday at 09:46 AM there is a config parameter NBR_TTS you can use to specify the number of messages that can be defined. I think the code allows you to set a higher number - and you should then run the node, stop it and start it again - that should increase the number of messages that can be defined It may not work, but let me know if it does not and send a log file with debug enabled Quote

I think I was on 15; the update moved me to 21. Yolink still showed up in the AC but only 1 node was there. I tried a restart but stlll no nodes. I then set count back to 9 and removed the 10th message and restarted (twice) but there is still only 1 node (YoLinkSetup) Quote
Panda88 Posted Sunday at 02:37 PM Posted Sunday at 02:37 PM (edited) what do you mean by nodes? there should be one node per speakerhub registered. the setting is to select different messages to be played on different conditions you may need to restart once more as the node updated and it will not remember the setting from the previous version if just set (i believe) Edited Sunday at 02:39 PM by Panda88 Quote
GTench Posted Sunday at 04:37 PM Posted Sunday at 04:37 PM I only see 1 node in PG3 and I don't see any Yolink devices in the Admin Console. I have restarted PG3 Yolink a number of times Quote
GTench Posted Sunday at 04:51 PM Posted Sunday at 04:51 PM Here is the log file from a restart. It says my devices are unsupported YoLink_6-29-2025_125003_PM.zip Quote
Panda88 Posted Sunday at 05:33 PM Posted Sunday at 05:33 PM Try to install 1.4.22 - I had a mistake of not enabling all devices (used during test) Quote
GTench Posted Sunday at 07:22 PM Posted Sunday at 07:22 PM @Panda88Have you uploaded it yet. I am not seeing it as an available update I see it now Quote
GTench Posted Sunday at 07:26 PM Posted Sunday at 07:26 PM (edited) looks like that's working... thanks Edited Sunday at 07:28 PM by GTench Quote
