IoX won't allowing Inteon device changes

I recently moved and am setting up a whole new system now that I have moved from the ISY994 to the EISY box.

As personal preference, I like most of my lights to have a 2 second turn on and turn off rate.  When a new device is added, it defaults to .5 seconds.

When I use IoX and try to set the ramp rate, writing the change to the device doesn't work.  I have tried using the "Write Changes" option at the bottom of the screen as well as the "Write Updates to the Device" when right clicking on the device in the device tree.

However, it all works if I use the app on my phone.

Any thoughts before I open a ticket?

Thanks.

You press the button next to whatever feature your are tweaking after you change it. You should not need to write updates to devices, unless the little green 0101 icon is next to the device

There's 3 things going on

  1. Individual device settings changes .. we just discussed how the buttons do that
  2. "Write updates to devices" only comes into play when requested updates don't get acknowledged by one or more devices. You'll know this by the little green 0101 icon next to the devices. Also, when you make changes to Insteon wireless/battery devices, the icon will stay until the device is put into linking mode
  3. I think write changes is part of the program tab

Write changes is mostly used for the pro version that allows you to make changes but not write them until a time of your choosing. Very helpful when making lots of changes to not have to wait for each change to write before moving on. Also if isy tried to write changes but had a com issue you can trigger another try.

So how is one to know all of this?  If a feature is not available, one convention is to have the option grayed out.

"Pro"??  That's a new one for me.  I guess I'll have to look into what that is.

If a device write fails, you will also need to manually "write changes", so it is not just used for the pro version.  If you make changes to a device that is not plugged in for example, or the com just fails for whatever reason.  But "writing changes" only does anything at all if there are changes to write and you will know that by the presence of the green "0100" next to the device.

Pro was an ISY994i add on. It added more link database size and the ability to disable automatic update wries to modules or just wireless devices so you could wake them up individually. So they didn't possibly interfere with each other.

I believe that feature is standard in the eisy with no add on needed.
